A riddle:

Look at me and what do you see?
The wizened hands of the elderly.

Another riddle:

I killed the king, then served the son.
As all my descendents have done.

The horse of Éorl? What was it called again? Fréalaf?

It is Felarof. Way to go Earniel, you have answered correctly yet again!

Keith,

We gotta get you a light green body suit with question marks all over it! I got way-laid on the Felarof one (thought each descendent both killed a king and served the son - so I was thinking abstractly). The one with the hands... too many ways to go there. Short riddles are definitely harder.

OK, Riddle me this:

"I am my master's favorite,
My hue is black as coal.
On every errand, first to last,
I've made it to our goal."

I've given your riddle some more consideration and have decided to change my guess to the Black Arrow of Bard.

Just saw your tries: Second is correct - Black Arrow of Bard.

That was an excellent riddle Valandil. I should have used that subject myself but you beat me to it. Care to guess my elderly hands riddle?

If that one is not of your liking try this one:

Middle-Earth Want-Ad

To separate me from the rest
a certain sign says I’m the best.
With special skills for rent or hire.
In service of the highest buyer.

Well - the first thing that comes to mind on the "hands" one is Gandalf.

As for the new one, I'll guess: Bilbo Baggins of Bag-end, Master Thief" - or something to that effect!

And... in case I was right, just to keep things moving on the thread, here's a couple for you to try:

I slew the great,
Then was slain by small.
I should have shared,
Or said nothing at all.

And the second:

I stole from the tree a forbidden fruit,
And received wounds close to dying.
Yet I regret not the deed,
Nor the wounds I received,
If I said so, I'd be lying.

Not too good I think, but I'm new at this.

It reminds me of the PalantÃ*r of Minas Tirith after the death of Denethor, but it doesn't really seem to fit.

Isildur's theft of the offspring of the White Tree in Númenor?

It does fit since after his death most who looked into the palantir of Minas Anor saw "only two aged hands withering in flame." You have found the answer again Earniel!

I agree with Earniel that Isildurs' theft of the fruit is probably the answer to Valandils' #2.

Yes, Earniel and Keith K - you're both correct on my second.

Can you solve the first?

Valandils' #1 is causing me some grief. Having trouble here with the sharing clue. I wonder if he could let us know what age of the world his riddle takes place in?

Well... hate to make it TOO easy on you, but Third Age.

Also - happened in a time of general upheaval going on all over Middle-earth (if that helps).
