I think making Tolkien the honourary President would not be insulting at all. If we are to elect a leader from amongst ourselves, Tolkien should be the one receiving the honour.

like sgh said before - this is primarily a TOLKIEN BOARD. Of course people honor him here.

And this entmoot election I think anyway is mostly for fun - not for picking a leader to lead entmoot or anything. Unless SGH wins, the winner probably will still remain a regular member but with a really cool title.

It is symbolic and it shows that the community would want you as their leader - either that or(/and) it is just a big popularity contest, like student council elections in high school.

Alright fine. But I'm not completely giving up! Since my plan to get Tolkien elected failed, I'm going to officially enter the race.

I tried my best to campaign for Tolkien, this is why you should elect me. A vote for me is sort of a vote for Tolkien.

i dont think there is a limit but just that sigs shouldnt be too long. adrian baggins used to have a freakin long sig and same with fimbrethil(sp) and it just stretches the page taking up more space

There is a limit - it is one of the policies of entmoot (don't remember if it is any written rules).

The admins are constantly asking people to make their signatures lower and we have implemented limits on how long your signature should be.

Warnings are given out, if it is not changed, signature privlidges (basically being able to update stuff in your user cp like profile) for several days.

We have done this to two members so far I believe (at least one).

Right now, your signature is way too long.

Not nearly as long as Hector's , so I didn't say anything.

I'd say around my sig size and SGH's sig size is the model sig size you are going for

If we were to make an announcement on signatures, whcih we will eventually, the limit would be a little under the size of Gimli #s's sig - like take out the large message about being canadian and that is about good, imo.

you can always make some of the writing smaller, or take out of those quotes.

The canadian sign does not have to be that big.

edit: now that you've edited it, yeah that is better

lucky the admins are lazy and haven't made any set limit - its just that if we see sigs that are definitely too long and they do not change after being asked, we start taking away sig privlidges. thanks for being cooperative
