I've gotten my voice from being unable to hit middle C to being able to hit the G above it, and I can do all sorts of things with my voice that I used to not be able to, and that most untrained singers can't.

I'm proud of what I've done.

On the other hand, tonight I auditioned for a part in the gospel choir I just joined and... blech. I know, I know--I'm a white boy doing gospel, and I'm a classical singer not a gospel singer. But damn, I got blown out of the water.

Not only were the other singers older than I am, but they'd had more training, and were all pop-style singers. Damn good ones, too.

But still... little depressed that I've worked so hard, and these other people who have such a talent for singing, and have had lots of training, are so much better than me. While my voice might've been a little smoother than some of them, I can't sing riffs like they can, and since my voice is a little smaller than an average voice, I can't belt as well as they can.

Again, I was going up against 'the best', but still. I wish I was a better singer

I thought Lakme was the name of the duet. Or are you asking what the name of a duet between a soprano and a boy soprano is? (I don't think it has a special name.)

Yeah school is annoying sometimes, and way too much work often, but it is worthwhile.

That really sucks Arien. Hey, people should be able to run around barefoot without offending doors attacking their little piggies.

My own little vent: My brain is melted. Completely reduced to ooze. Nothing substantial left. It is burned out, reduced to a blackened puddle of slush, a ruined, mangled, hollowed-out shell of what once was a functional mind.
