Yeah, I thought it was a bit odd you wouldn't know this. Sorry for just assuming so.

I reckon Lief may have seen this article .

Top five things one should never inflict upon a hearing aid:
  1. Drop Hearing Aid on Hard Surface
  2. Feed Hearing Aid to Dog
  3. Sit on or stand on Hearing Aid
  4. Drop Hearing Aid in Water
  5. Melt Hearing Aid in Oven after doing any of the Above

List of things I have inflicted upon my Hearing Aid:
  1. Dropped Hearing Aid on Hard Surface... multiple times
  2. Fed Hearing Aid to Dog... at least twice
  3. Sat and stood on Hearing Aid... once a day
  4. Dropped Hearing Aid in Water... erm....
  5. Melted Hearing Aid in Oven after doing any of the Above... well, that was more my mother than me.

That's right folks, after having the damned things for 26 years, I've finally completed the list. I ****ing dropped one of the stupid waxy things into a bucket full of water/napisan. I managed to NOT do it my whole damned life and NOW I do it. Feh!

Wow.

Sometimes it's really hard not to laugh at someone's misfortune - especially when they put it like that

Sorry anyway BoP

Honestly BoP, there's a good reason why Beethoven preferred the Ear Trumpet ...you can do all those things to it, and it'll still be usable.

I might be going to the US over christmas to visit a good friend of mine.. Now I'm just thinking about in which different ways my mum can kill me when I tell her. And I guess she has the right to, I mean.. I'm crazy. I, a poor student, will use almost all the money I have on a trip to the other side of the planet to be with someone I've never met in person. I guess she either has to kill me or realize that her daughter is crazy, and likes it.

I have the opposite problem; I sleep too late! Though the end of that one is in sight...

I'm almost not unhappy... almost. It's sort of a love/hate thing .

I've gotten my voice from being unable to hit middle C to being able to hit the G above it, and I can do all sorts of things with my voice that I used to not be able to, and that most untrained singers can't.

I'm proud of what I've done.

On the other hand, tonight I auditioned for a part in the gospel choir I just joined and... blech. I know, I know--I'm a white boy doing gospel, and I'm a classical singer not a gospel singer. But damn, I got blown out of the water.

Not only were the other singers older than I am, but they'd had more training, and were all pop-style singers. Damn good ones, too.

But still... little depressed that I've worked so hard, and these other people who have such a talent for singing, and have had lots of training, are so much better than me. While my voice might've been a little smoother than some of them, I can't sing riffs like they can, and since my voice is a little smaller than an average voice, I can't belt as well as they can.

Again, I was going up against 'the best', but still. I wish I was a better singer .

I so know the feeling, not with music but with art. You spend all this time working on something you think is a killer drawing, and yes, it does look good. But then you see something from another group or artists and their work still overclasses yours the big way. Better control of colours, smarter compostion and the whole nine yards. To quote Qui-Gon Ginn: There's always a bigger fish.

But is it a smarter fish?

If ye canna be the biggest fish - be the smartest fish - use your strengths to their best, rather go up against leviathans.

glad the singin is on the up Tessar

Hah, the karmic boot-stomp of death missed me. Neener neener. A good couple of days with some of those silica gel beads, and the hearing aid is as good as new, albeit REALLY clean. Yeehaw.
