I can't believe I just did that.
In Honour of Valandil... Mind you. I still think Finrod is the coolest, most amazing, noblest, most handsome, and all around BEST in every sense of the word Elf that ever was, is, or ever will be... But unfortunately (I HATE YOU THINGOL!) he didn't survive to be in the Appendices... though, perhaps on a technicality...

You're wrong. You're all wrong! BELEG is the best, the "the coolest, most amazing, noblest, most handsome" of them all. And who knows what deeds he would still have accomplished if not for that fatal hour upon wich the world lost a true hero.

yeah Beleg is, was, a great hero. I always liked him, it is something about the character which interests me.
but the coolest in Sil I think must be Turgon. from first moment I read about him, I was engrossed. a magnificent man. and though he is no man, Thorondor is one of my favourites. sadly though, that name was already taken

Ah, but Men of the Silmarillion sounds better, IMO.

What, SGH, no comment? I guess I'll have to do it for you... Is anyone else here of the opinion that Finrod single-handedly held Beleriand together during the First Age? He dies and everything falls to pieces... Coincidence? I think not... So let's think on what the 2nd and 3rd Ages would have been like if he had lived...
