I know! The Shire is struck with a deadly plague of . . . Numenorean Panty Complex! *everyone gasps* We, the Messageboardship, must ride the length and breadth of Middle Earth searching for Numenorean panties to apply to the luckless victims . . .
Ok, maybe not.

Sounds like fun. How about murading orcs?Or wolves?Or maybe vengeful spiders from Mirkwood? Or maybe an invasion of Gerbils realtives? Just KIDDING. Maybe Sting is lost in the Brandywine and is carried down to the Misty Mountains and we have to find it?Or a delightful combination of them all.
Depends on how goofy we want it to get. How goofy DO we want it to get?And would the Admins let us in this particular forum? Just wondering. I'm ALL for it. Sam

Oooh, well theres some good ideas(Well, aside from the gerbil's relatives idea). Umm I dont want it to get too goody. Some humor would be fine, but..nothing...weird... I wanna keep it within the logical boundries of tolkien's stories..IE- no panties or marauding rodents. You get the idea. It wouldnt be in this forum, I'd set it up in the RP forum.

Oh well. If you start it serious, and you let me join, I'll write seriously . . . as much as possible, that is. I like the spider idea! Ooh, and we can all have cool weapons and stuff! Sweet . . .

Does anyone have AIM or anything - maybe we could get together in a chat and discuss this in real time. I have Instant Messenger.
Just an idea. Then we won't be trying to talk back and forth through the thread.

Although I haven't been involved in the stories, I have followed this thread with morbid curiosity — um, er, ahem … interest, that is — not to mention a lot of laughs.
For what it's worth, my AIM name is "ChurlishCanadian" … also a long story. |

To every one with IM software - get MS Messenger before your contact list grows so huge you are loathe to swap - that's why I've still got ICQ, which is awful now - bloatware. As for ideas, I don't think much of the panties idea. People should do like FF and not wear any Ideas... hmmm.... Well, first we need a means to communicate I suppose My vote is for MS Messenger - hunt me down with rakoonic@hotmail.com |

Ahh...what the hello is going on? I spend two nights at my friend's house, come home, and there's three extra pages to this thread. It's not my fault she doesn't have her computer fixed any way, so someone explain what's going on. As for this "AIM" talk, I hate AIM (too many serverely "messed up" people on there, I mean not like us, I'm talking messed up) I have MSN Messenger & ICQ. Never will I ever get AIM again even if my life depended on it.

How is AIM messed up? It doesn't even have chat rooms - it's really just a private messenging system. I've never had anyone contact me - that I didn't want to contact me.
What kind of bad experience did you have with Instant Messenger? I've used MSN and it's a lot easier for someone you don't know to contact you on that thing.

For starters, AIM looks crappy. Second of all, you can't search for people worth a damn (the search engine is the worst I've ever seen), and you have to be very careful what you select your interests as or sick people will message you. I just hate it. I've never liked AIM or AOL. And finding people "normal" people is just too hard on there. I was searching for some people with the same interests as me and when I read their profile to see who they were, suddenly their warning level against me jumped from 0 to 15, maybe even to 30. I don't understand that. Its like they have a profile and if you read it just once they think you're a stalker or something. I've never had anyone on MSN or ICQ to just message me with weird stuff out of nowhere, and they have a much better design, too, so I just like MSN & ICQ. Down with AIM!
Oh, Feraway, I'm using the colored pic of my charac. you drew as my avatar. You don't mind, do you? Just checking Last edited by Rána Eressëa : 02-03-2002 at 01:42 PM. |

Title: (none yet)
Type: basic text, free-style. No dice. By invite only. GM: Feraway Hawkbriar Start date: As soon as possible. The Setup: IT starts out in modern times(2001+), everything is exactly how it is, but diferent. The Elves have left middle earth(wich is now basicaly non-existant due to continental drift) and are, by now, thought to never have actually existed or be an extinct people. All of the most ancient histories of the world are lost. Men have, for the most part, come to inherit the world, they are the main people out there. However Hobbits and Dwarves, instead of drifting out of existence, have come to be part of the common populace alongside the many races of men. Note: Tolkien NEVER existed in this world. (scary thought huh?) The Story: Some teens from the current time (You can pick whatever the races you want and hybrids are allowed, but lets not have too many k?) Get ahold of an ancient elven talisman and wind up being thrown back in time to the time of, or just before, the war of the ring, where thay have to deal with the weird @$$ stuff(to them) that they are just not prepared to deal with in any way whatsoever. Charecter types required: OK, we're going to needsome people from the modern day( I want to keep the number that go back in time to an abolute maximum of 5...4 would be better) ,but we're also going to need some from the ancient times aswell, like the hobbits (Frodo, Sam, Pippin, ect) but this can also include new charecters that you make up to be from the old times... Ummm....so, yeah, thats the story! I came up with it while talking with JD lastnight. Soooo any thoughtd , comments, questions on it? will this be acceptable gaming for those involved hmmmm? I give you cookie if you you say yes. My charecter: Name: Briana (mah RN ^_^*) Age: 16 Race: 1/4 hobbit 3/4 human. Height: 4'5 Commonly wears: Anything dark, big fan of black. Eye color: grey-blue Hair color/type: blond/strait The only thing that really defines her as haveing some hobbit herritage is her pointed ears and prefrence for going around barefoot, shoes bother the hell outta her. She's a music lover to the core, though she hates the heavy metal and rap. She has a special love the 'Moulan Rouge' movie soundtrack. You'll never find her anywhere without her portable CD player. Very much a tomboy, and a little eccentric. Refuses to wear dresses of any kind. She's a tough chic and just dosnt take **** from people, she's seen her fair share of school-yard fights. loves Invader ZIM.

That sounds cool. Now I'll have to think of a character I guess.
You know - once your batteries go out on your CD player - you're going to go into withdrawal in Middle-Earth.
