I haven't really had processed sugar or cornsyrup for a couple of days now and my body keeps telling me that I'm hungry... but I'm fairly sure that's just sugar cravings, cuz I'm eating plenty.
I would pretty much kick a puppy to get some candy right now.... >.< *cranky* |

GAH why is everything due at the last minute, all at the same time, on top of all of the last minute tests that prevent you from working on the project because you have to study for the test?!?!!?
>.< Meanwhile, I might take Gwai up on his dare and go kick any candy-carrying puppies that I see. Although I gotta say the sugar cravings weren't as bad today. Might still kick a puppy tho'. |

Aaargh!
Not until this evening did I receive that oh so important letter from the scheduler, a letter which said that today was the last day to tell the scheduler which days you need to take a leave.
And then I hastily take to the phone in a desperate attempt to maybe record an explanatory and very apologetic message on the scheduler's answering machine - I become aware that the phone number on the web site is very wrong. Because the person on the line is not a scheduler but a quite gloomy man who jumps at this chance to throw at me a lamentation about the nasty politicians and how the hospital's recent changes have all been for the very worst. So unless I can somehow get in touch with the scheduler this weekend (on his day off, that'll be popular...) I can count with a frigging inconvenient schedule from February to May. On top of that, my washing machine broke again mid-programme. I want a hug.

Wait - you get a letter this evening that TODAY is the last day to do something? and the phone number on the website is wrong? That stinks! *Moothug* !!
Well, if this scheduler is at all a decent person, he shouldn't be too upset with you when you tell him those things. Sorry to hear that, though - like we all need things like this in our lives! I hope your washing machine gets better - it's one of those things that we count on all the time, and it's a real pain when they go down (let alone the expense!!)

Thanks.
Well, anti-vent: Yesterday's Evening of Infernal Frustration is over and things are back on track. I got hold of the scheduler and I successfully salvaged the laundry

So Tessar. Back in the day when it was all dial-up, my cousin was downloading this thing for a game. That was taking hours. Also relied on having steady internet connection. Suddenly he panics. What happened to the internet? There's me, sitting on the couch, holding the phone in my hand. Why did you pick up the phone? "I wanted to see how to curve of it felt." I was nearly killed.

Ah, 90s nostalgia. I miss the familiar noise from a 56k modem... but I can do without its unstable connection

Stupid snow avalanched off the stupid roof and took the stupid Sky dish with it. So no satellite TV until I can get it fixed and that means NO ASHES CRICKET tonight.
AND I was playing online poker on Saturday. Drew a pair of Aces and THEN two aces came down on the flop. So I had four of a kind aces and NOBODY WOULD BET against me. I still won the tournament, which is the main thing, but I SO wanted to show that hand!

Oh geeze, I am freaking out about my math final tomorrow. I went back into the old homework and was looking at it, and it was like a little light switch flipped on... I get it now. But hopefully not too late for the final, which is tomorrow at 7:30 a.m.
The problem is that I get it now, but I'm not sure I can do it without the assistance of using a cheat sheet to remember the rules. Before I didn't understand the rules, so I had no practical way to memorize them. Hopefully I can still do a good job tomorrow morning. I can either walk in there and nail it tomorrow, now that I understand it, or I'll walk in and not be able to remember when to use the formulas and bomb it. Not much more I can do to prepare, unfortunately. I wish I had started understanding it earlier in the semester. |

You are not allowed to use a graphic calculator? The only reason I got a semi-reasonable result for my MAths final in high school was because I was allowed to use it. I had all rules + an example saved in a text file on that thing. Took me days to complete it.

A graphic calculator? That's so cool. Never worked with something like that. At my school, in case a normal calculator was needed during exams, the teacher diligently passed every desk and deleted every calculator's memory.
Teachers were very vigilant then. One of them also made off with my eraser that had 'Eärniel' on it during a physics exam to check later with the physics teacher whether it was something out of the textbook. Unfortunately I failed to notice she had run off with it, so not only did I have to erase any pencil on my exam with a tiny, incompetent eraser on the end of my pencil but I also spent 15 minutes after the exams looking for that eraser (it was a good one too!) on the class room floor. Only to have it pushed in my hands again two weeks later in the hallway with the above explanation.
