Sweeney Todd.

I liked it quite a lot; especially the way it ended, and how nothing was romanticized. Good stuff.

I have it on DVD, but could you perhaps tell me if it's watchable for someone who doesn't like blood and brainless slaughter and couldn't finish watching I am legend?

Well.. There's quite a lot of blood and murder after murder, so I'm not sure.. It is a pretty bloody film. X)

I've heard that it also depends on wether you watch the American or the original version: they've chosen some "alternative angles" in the American version to be able to give it an R-rating.

Oh, perhaps I'd better leave it alone then. Too bad, I would've liked watching a musical with Johnny Depp... >_<

It's really good, though.. Maybe you can just close your eyes? You'll notice when he starts.

Well, at one time my sister would have told me when I can open my eyes again, but she refuses to do so now. My mum says I'm being a wuss... Family
But perhaps I'll try watching it sometime when it's not near bed time and when I have access to... well when the circumstances are right
Just saw: if I had know I was a Genius. It was a ... weird film. Definitely not a must see, but okay to watch if you have nothing better to do.

Just finished watching Penelope with Christina Ricci. I loved it! Very touching story. I would have liked to hear Max play a little bit more piano though, because it sounded very good.

On Sunday I watched The Rock with Sean Connery, Nicholas Cage and Ed Harris. The acting was superb but the plot was sub-par. But hey, Michael Bay directed it and as long as there are gratuitous explosions, he's going to be happy.

I enjoyed The Rock but I wouldn't say it was a good movie. (And Mari, it is way too violent for you to enjoy anyway.)

At one point,
numerous supporting characters are killed off just so Nicholas Cage's and Sean Connery's characters have to work alone.
There was no plot-driven reason for it, and it came off as very contrived. Laaaaame.

Still, it's a fun action movie. There are better, but I'm not demanding two-and-a-half hours of my life back either. It did rate "Fresh" (62%) at Rottentomatoes.com but these are the same people that gave one of my favourite movies, Nomad (The Warrior) a pathetic 7%, so take that for what it's worth. Even though it's like a meta-analysis of reviews instead of looking at only one movie reviewer, you're still not always going to agree with the ratings.

Amen! Other than that, I thought it was a nice undemanding action movie. Connery's role nearly seemed written for him.

Fool's Gold~ Laugh out loud funny. If you're in the mood for a really good laugh, it's a must see.

The Last Samurai~ It's been a while since I'd seen it. Mari, I know how much you love everything Japanese, but it's pretty violent so I really don't know if you'll want to see it. IMO, it's a really deep movie. I loved now that I understood it better than I did when I saw it the first time.

First Knight~ Like King Arthur, puts a bit of a twist on the Camalot legend.

Actually, I saw the Last Samurai. I had a friend who was so kind as to tell me when not to watch. She had allready seen it, so she could tell me in advance. By the way, I can handle violence to some extent, as long as it isn't scary at the same time. I thought it was quite good,
but oh the kiss at the end...
NOOOO~!

I just saw vantage point and I quiet liked it it got a bit repetitive after awhile but in between there were some really good parts. Its a new concept and people should go see it. Forest Whitaker and Dennis Quaid played there parts well and even if it wasn't supposed to be funny some bits had me laughing for some reason

Anywho its a new concept and was a pretty cool movie

Sweeney Todd- great, great, great. music and blood, great combo!

Across the Universe- It seemed to me just a bunch of beatle songs thrown into a movie, but they did a great job of recreating them, it's very enjoyable.

I've heard so many people rave about this movie. I might have to wait until it comes out on DVD before I can see it.

I just had a Hellboy marathon. The 2004 movie and the two Animated movies. I'll prolly do it again in a couple of months
