Nope, it wasn't any of those people. I'll give you one hint: the skull breaking was deliberate on the part of the perpetrator.

Wasn't it Cormac Mclaggen (no idea how to spell his name) breaking Harry's skull? I remembered that as soon as I heard it was done with a beaters bat.

That part was kind of funny, but sad that Harry has to fall off his broom again.
