If all goes well, tomorrow I'll have a field day cutting down invasive black cherry trees in the woods. Mwahahah! Killkillkill! (I told you someone would have to pay...)

Have fun. Shall I email you sapling crafts?
Our villians are Norway maple and English ivy. *shows ripped up palms*

Thanks. I had much evil fun.

I've had my share of battling ivy too this spring. Evil buggers. Killkillkill!

*ahem*

Shall we trade my black cherry trees for your norway maples? The wood could use some maple trees.

(Oh and we have newts in the wood's pond too! Wheee! Didn't see the resident frog, though, but he had to be there somewhere...)

We have a lovely beechwood, with a creek. Getting to climax, though (second growth) so we'll have a big management problem soon, since we've* all but eliminated the succession process.

You don't want these maples, though. A couple of sugar maples might behave themselves.

I made two major breakthroughs in my voice. One a week ago at my voice lesson, and the other on Sunday during mass. I was holding out a long note, and something in my brain just 'clicked'.

The result?

My usually very calm teacher, who rarely shows any emotion beyond a chuckle, was literally bouncing up and down on his chair yelling, "That's it! That's it! You finally got it!" while I sang. So then he showed me how to do several things that I'd never been able to do before, but now I can do.

When I went home, my parents wanted to know what I was so excited about. So I sang for them, and got some MOST gratifying reactions . My mom spun around from the kitchen stove with her jaw dropped in disbelief, and my dad's eyebrows popped way up--which is like falling down in shock, for him .

BOOM BABY!

Which isn't to say I'm like... super-singer or anything . I'm still just average, but it's a huge improvement over what I could do before. And these are basically the breakthroughs that I needed to continue to improve... one involves my breathing (breath support) and the other involves head resonance.

YEEEEE!!!! *dances around like a man-man*

Twice removed from the pub? What kind of nicey-nice dockside pub removes people, short of all out riot and the black maria?

I'm disappointed, bb. I expected you to keep worse company.

The man who can't spell his own screen name OR disappointed lectures me. My look would be distinctly askance, if you weren't so cute. Sun over the yardarm yet, dockside?

Yesterday, I got a call from one of the colleges I applied to. this school had put me on the wait list for them after I applied.

The admissions counselor I spoke to informed me that I had been admitted to the school and that he wanted to make sure that not all of my plans for this school had been decided.

I thought that it was pretty cool that they called specially to let me know.

This morning, I recieved a FedEx overnight package.I open it and there is my acceptance letter and a VERY sizable MERIT SCHOLARSHIP, that is renewable for all four years!

Now, It's REALLY nice to have this as another possibility for me to choose from.

I'm sure when the shock of it all wears off the happy thread is the perfect place for this news lol
