The French call them "les diamants noirs," because they're so highly prized and hard to find. Dogs and trained pigs sniff them out in the wild; they can't be cultivated, they have to be found in the wild, in southern france and white truffles in northern italy. YUMMM!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
! My parents are getting me an iPod as a joint Birthday and Christmas gift . I can't believe I talked them into doing it--I think it helped that I only asked once instead of trying the ol' "grovel and beg" routine . The last time I tried that was four years ago and it... didn't... go over too well. OMG!! I'm gonna get an IPOD THIS CHRISTMAS! |

Oh, fun!
My son wants one - I may let him get one if he lets me use it, too! (he'd need to kick in about half the cost from his saved allowance, though, probably)

IPods are the bomb; I can't even imagine being without mine now. They last forever, too, and can also be used to store more than just music. You will LOVE it, Tessar!

I'll be twenty years old in exactly one week now . I'm feeling very good about it .
By the way, Lotesse, those are certainly amusing comics you've been posting around the site . It's crazy hearing dinosaurs philosophizing as they do what dinosaurs do. I'm afraid it might be the end of the semester before I get to post in that thread again, though .

My friends found another language enthusiast! She's been in 2 of my tuition classes (chem & specialist maths) for ages, and I knew she spoke German, but this girl speaks FOUR languages in common with me (with more fluency, no doubt) AND she has a book with her scribblings in German (I suppose similar to my constant scribbles in Swedish in the past). It sucks, though, that I discover this at the END of the year. Meh. Still, another language freak in my vicinity! *Jaw drops*

Good! I thought of you instantly when I started reading Red Mars. Frank Chalmers speaks five languages.

Wow, 5 languages is cool. How'd you become aware of my language love/obsession?
