It's the favourite food of Smurfs. I've been reading my fathers comics again last weekend and when I came across the other name for root beer (sarsaparilla) I was reminded of it. When I was young I kept mispronouncing salsaparilla

On a serious note: here it becomes more and more normal to drink so much that you can't remember what happened the next day... And not just students (who started this trend) but 14 and 15 year olds as well!

It's not the other name for root beer, it's a completely separate drink. It's flavored with a vine.

In my area, you can also get birch beer. it's lovely.

No, they're all three "soft drinks", although you can (unwisely) ferment any of them.

My father decided once to make handmade rootbeer. It exploded, very impressively. And I was traveling in AMish country a couple of years ago and my friend bought us homemade Amish root beer. It was the apex of undrinkable...really, combined with anything.

But the flavoring agents in the three are quite different.

This is funny, I was teaching last night how to make lemonlime soda. It was delicious.

At Disney World, one of my family's favorite activities is "Club Cool", which used to be "Ice Station Cool" at Epcot. It has free samples of a wide variety of Coca-cola products as sold all over the world.

I'm a huge fan of industrial history, and factory tours, and of course, free food is appreciated. But it really is interesting.

The Melon-Lime was actually Fanta, I think. But honestly: beware!

I did a tour of a cheese factory with school once... I don't like the smell or taste of cheese, so it was torture. I would like to go to a chocolate factory or something like that though
