How cute. Does she like to take short-cuts over the keyboard as well?

Im sick of having a math test and quiz every week. Partner quiz today, regular quiz Thursday, and Test on Friday, yippie! askjdfhaskjfh. Atleast I managed at 3.7 GPA first quarter. Trig needs to be my only B, spanish should have been an A

Volunteering later today, it's getting better the more times I do it .

I was thinking on the car ride home from school today... Have you developed a mental picture of what the Teacup cafe looks like? Or am I the only one who has...?

Oh, absolutely.

This is the view back towards the Monster quarters.

This is along the west wall...I have no idea where all those tables came from, though.

This is the little hearth:
(and no, that's not me.)

This is where you usually find Mari:

This is where I hang out (this picture was before wooden seats were installed, it's much better now)

These are the chairs where people study:

To all it may concern. The Monster Era here at the Cafe is permanently over. No need to worry that it will ever be revived.

The link to the Monsterlist will be deleted - and stay where it were.

Best to all, GW

Ill try to imaginative in other ways.

Sis, pretty good looking! Though in the winter I like to curl up near the fire place. Or just in a giant pillow heap including you, Sane and a few others
I was thinking something like this:

or this:

GW, what's wrong? We don't hate the monsters! It's just that there were a great many of them and you hardly got to speak for yourself. I like you more than I like the monsters

I like the monsters! They are a wonderful and highly available solution to any Teacup predicament.

*is sad that the monsters are gone*

MY VIEW OF THE TEACUP:

That's the couch where Bunicula was hiding in Hector's story... And there's the bar where we keep the drinks which I do not drink.

This is where we bake pies and keep the drinks I DO drink.

This is the study corner which we installed a couple of Teacups ago.

The doors in the corner lead to what used to be the Monster Quarters. This picture was taken just after we installed the MQ, hence the lack of furniture.

And of course, there's a library off some hallway and other random rooms which we haven't explored because we're just so comfortable in the Teacup main room.

That is what the garden out front looks like.

Sort of. She likes to take detours over everything. Keyboards, papers, laps, anything climable... she's a hyperactive yearling kitten, an ADD cuddler.

I had envisioned the Teacup as more open, with lots and lots of light and space and an eclectic bunch of comfy furnishings. Sort of like a modernized Last Homely House type of thing.

But those pictures are all shiny, except for the black and white one of not-sis...

I'm gonna let my virtual self sleep now because maybe if I'm snoozing in here I can fool my actual body into thinking it isn't sleep-deprived and thus make it through my evening class and still have energy to finish reading the Odyssey in order to start that paper...

*flops on one of the couches and is asleep within seconds*

I don't mind the monsters either... 'twas just that some of the more noxious ones began to grate my goat.

Well, friends, perhaps Ill give it some thought and Im sorry since I went a little overboard with the more bothering M's.

Ok, they're back, but ONLY the benign ones. As you may see in my sig - the list it totally void of obnoxious M's.

Haha, I like all those pictures. Funny how we all have different images of the Teacup.
But whatever the pic, I think most of them have a sense of coziness.
A good Teacup has to be a bit worn out (in?) and cozy. And comfy of course!
Now the garden... I have so many images of the gardens, I think I'd better not post pics.

IKWYM, Mari.

I wonder how much our sense of landscape is related to the places we know personally. It's said that JRRT was describing his Oxford Countryside in The Shire, but I wonder if our picture of the Teacup and environs is more like places we know, or more like places we'd like to know.

I was surprised, for example, to see any pictures of modern housing construction in people's posts. Square drywall is just no part of my mental map here...probably because I spend too much time hanging it, lol.

Modern? Don't know what you mean. Those styles are very different than what I'm used to, but it's what came up when I googled for 'hearth living room' and looked coziest.

I just love old farmhouses though!
I don't want a big house when I'm all grown up, but I would like something older with wood and a big garden.
