*shrugs* Force of habit, mostly. Easier to fit them in the drawer. Mom's pretty insistent on having everything ironed.
My sister in response has gone so far to the non-ironing side that she has hidden her ironing board deep in her basement so that even if my mom goes over to babysit, she won't find it to do some secret ironing. |

There is very little that actually needs ironing, I agree.
Sis and Brother-in-law may proclaim loudly they don't need an iron, but he sneakily just leaves his shirts here in the washing, knowing well he'll get it back creasefree. |

I did, but I kept getting approached by weird companies or guys claiming to run a school where they'd love to have me with an exorbitant salary.
That got tiresome fast.

We have a ironing board but we haven't used it in so long that I don't know where it is

I felt my civic duty was fulfilled by voting in the first place.
Thank you for your work, Earn!

Yeah, technically the voting ought to have sufficed as far as civic duty is concerned. But alas, why stop at making turning up to vote mandatory if you can get voters to man the voting stations as well?
I'm just glad they didn't need me to stay for the counting as well! Having computers is lucky in that aspect eventhough the system's pretty complicated. And with a little bit of luck I won't be called again next election, although I have my doubts... |

Wait, in Belgium it's not manned by volunteers?
So do you get the day off or compensation for manning a booth?

Haha, nooo. They'd find no one willing to volunteer, I'm sure. Or no one they'd dare to let take control of the voting process. It's almost a natural sport here to get out under the summons to crew your local voting station. Lots of people sick or 'abroad', some of them weeks in advance! Hence the pretty hefty fines if you're found to have no acceptable excuse to stay away.
And I don't get a day off either. But I'm paid the great sum of 38,50 euros, though. Or I should be getting them around now, I think, haven't checked if they deposited it yet. The government is notoriously late-player. |

$crooge
People!
Are there any Donald Duck - or, more specifically, Scrooge McDuck enthusiasts here? I'm asking because I'm planning to write and draw a Scrooge- comic, and an "editor" would be most useful. Pure fanfic, of course, so can't pay or compensate in any way... But I could really use some critical feedback. The story itself will be somewhat dark, but also (hopefully!) beautiful. Any volunteers...?
