That would be stupid. Two reasons. Vegetarians have to eat more because their diet is less filling than that of a meat based one. And secondly, they consume less protein and more carbs. Since I've been veggie, I've actually gained weight.

I know several women who claim to be vegetarians, but in actuality don't eat anything at all.

It seems to be a handy explination that they can use to fend off questions about their diet. "I can't eat this because it's XXX"

I wasn't asking if you personally were an anorexic, a question very unlikely to yeild any positive results anyway. I was asking if you know of any such individuals.

I had salmon sushi and sashimi today. I think maybe I shouldn't've started off on raw fish....

Believe me, so am I. And if it weren't for that dratted doctor!

Raw fish is easier to eat. It doesn't have that horrible stringy tecture that meat usually has.

No, protein isn't the problem. I need to either eat fish, or eat tablets made of fish to get my colesterol levels up. Either way, I'm eating fish... so I decided to eat the real McCoy, cos at least this way, I'm getting protein and omega and all that crap.

Thats wierd, needing to increase cholesterol, do you mean the good type? If I ever convert back to meat eating, I would never eat raw fish. I used to like the crumbed kind with lemon......*sigh*

My favorite kind of sashimi is the one with raw squid, then the tuna. At least you got choices. Happy dining.

Yeah, the good type of colesterol.

When I was a meat eater, I hated fish. I still do. Tastes yuck. At least raw fish doesn't taste all fishy... Doesn't taste like anything at all, in fact. Especially once I bury it in a tonne of wasabi (full of vitamin C, you know!

) and soy sauce....

No I'm not. I'm just not sure how to cheer you up. I guess you should just not think about what you're eating too much.

I used to hate tomatos until I decided to just keep gulping it until I got used to it. It's still not my favorite but my tummy no longer gives it back.

You could probably get tablets or something, BoP, if you want to. I guess fish eating isn't too bad, because the fish get to (usually) swim in a big ocean, not like chickens being stuck in a tiny cage.

Fish tablets are no different from eating actual fish, although I'd probably feel less guilty. Maybe I'll go with that. I don't know if I could handle eating sashimi again. And I certainly can't eat cooked fish....
