Durin's day was the first day of the dwarf year, but can't remember the actual date. Which calendar do you want it in?

Oh yes! Very right indeed, the first day of the Dwarves New Year. (sorry!) The description is given by Thorin, when Elrond is reading the silver moonletters on midsummers eve, from Thorins map.

"The first day of the last moon of Autumn, on the threshold of Winter. It is called Durin's Day when the last moon of Autumn and the sun are in the sky together." (Durin's Day should be coming up soon here!

)

I heard this on the tape of the Hobbit and hadn't noticed it in the books, but I don't think they'd have made it up.
