So I was in Washington, DC with school and we are about to go to bed---flipping through TV channels when what comes up but "The American President"-- how appropriate. I was also convienently in a "chick flick" moment .
Cute .

Just saw "The Notebook" - a so-so movie. I really liked the oldster part, and how he continued to care for her, but I don't know ... just didn't have a ton of sympathy for them when they were younger. Alzheimers must be awful ...

'Flight of the Phoenix'- the new one. What a piece of CRAP. The only thing good about it was the lack of Richard Attenborough.

The last I saw was Der Untergang. Exellent movie. Very deep, and wellmade. The main character does a very good job. Don't remember his name, but he deserves and Oscar!

Just saw Friday Night Lights on video. Really depressing subplot about how football just becomes life for some people and even some regions.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. For a movie it wasn't bad, but if you're a book fan don't go into it expecting the humor to be the same. It's a bit Hollywood-ized. They did leave in the sperm whale and the pot of petunias, though. Whee.

I just watched Goldeneye. This is one of my favourite James Bond movies, but I had forgotten how annoying Xenoia Onotop is. Worst. Sub-bad guy. Ever. I don't mind crazy villains but she's completely phycho, has a weird sexual fetish that gets far to much screen-time, and shrieks a lot.
Sean Bean as Trevelyan (the main bad guy) makes up for that though, even though his motives seem stupid after awhile. Insightful characterization isn't really the point of James Bond movies. Other good points: Natalya Simonova is the best bond girl! And the BMW Z3 is always fun to watch, even though it's mostly driven by the cool CIA agent in this movie. For some reason everyone feels the need to peel out and spray gravel whenever they leave in a car. Even for a Bond movie, the body count seemed exceptionally high. Good times were had by all.

Hitchhikers. A very dumb movie. Stupid is the right word, really. But it was utterly great!
Daredevil. Ben Affleck in one of his more likable roles, although the movie really bombed. Electra (known in some small countries as The House of Flying Sheets). What a piece of junk. There was only one interesting fight; it was practically plotless. Taking Sides (w/ Stellan Skarsgard). Kind of an obscure movie about a German conductor named Wilhem Futswangler (or something like that). Rather good, although the ending left a little to be desired.

"Phantom of the Opera" Andrew Lloyd Weber & Joel Schumaker
What an exhausting expenditure of two hours this was! I can't stand Joel Schumaker. I blame my boyfriend for renting it, WHAT was he thinking. This story needs to stay on Broadway where it belongs.

Kind of like the LOTR guy that said how when people draw swords out of scabbards, the sound guys always add that ringing noise, but that's totally wrong.

Just saw Lemony Snicket - fun! Sunny is darling! I've only read the first book, tho, so a lot of it was new. I guess it was 3 books put together.
