Bingo! Sauron is the guy. Good job!
Melkor does fit, yet he was not considered much of a craftsman - although he obviously coveted the craft works of others - leading to the sorrow of many. Here's another little riddle for y'all to solve: Dressed in white on a field of green, I am seen where kings of men have been. |

Semantics? Ha! You've been riddling with me long enough to know that I am a stickler for such things... And yes, simbelmyne, the everwhite flowers that grow on the barrows of the Kings of Rohan is the correct answer as you well knew. New riddles will be forthcoming. Perhaps I can create some tomorrow when I finally have a whole day off. |

If I'm right, maybe I should start waiting 24 hours after Keith K posts them.
The two of us think too much alike.

It was the wallet of William to be exact. Good one, Val. Quote:

Durin of the Longbeards? (though I don't see how the last four words fit it)

In any event you are correct. Durin the Deathless is the answer to the riddle. Plus, you are correct on the other two riddles as well. Bravo, and many kudos to you for playing so well. |

Thassiscorrect... Ondoher!
The sons who died at the same battle as him were Artamir and Faramir. (this is in 1944 of the Third Age - and so is not the Faramir we all know and love) His daughter Firiel was already married to Arvedui, who would become the last King of Arthedain. From them was eventually descended Aragorn - who would take Ondoher's throne... the next actual descendant of his to do so.
