*applauds* Very good! Altho, was the last one necessary? Ack! Poor Turin and Nienor. *shudders* You have to mention that it was done unwittingly, and she
jumps into a river
in the end.

you're obsessed if the first thing you ask on a date is: Do you like Tolkien/LotR?

Don't tell me you did that? Oh, Lai. You're lucky you're so pretty, what with all the weird things you do...
BTW: You said you didn't like "Lai" before, but now you use it yourself! Ha!

Although I have the idea, I don't have too many friends that are interestes...my uncle loves it, and I have one or two friends who would come for sure, but I'd probably coax some other close non-Tolkienited friends to come anyway...

Tell me you didn't. Wow. That's worse than me. I don't say anything until its brought up in conversation. Then I tend blabber on and on and on. Till I see this blank vacant stare in the other person's eyes... then I quit.

Errr... Wayfarer... I've got no idea what you're talking about (as usual).

What? That's the first thing I ask. All though usually they mention it first, knowing my Elf-hood.

You know you're obsessed with LotR when you manage to find a guy at a highschool football game who looks EXACTLY like Dominic Monaghan only with black hair.

Well, I will usually wear a hat... if they see the ears, then I usually make up a story about wierd genetics and rare genes in my family... they buy it.

It's just what Turin did to Nienor, albeit unwittingly. If ya haven't yet read the Sil, go do so. The story's in there and is v. v. sad. If you have read it and I'm misinterpreting this, sorry...

Lucky for me, my boyfriend is also obsessed with LotR. Our dates often involve an LotR discussion. I plan to go to the opening of RotK wearing (at least) a cool cloak. I'm sure he'll support this plan, as will many of our closest friends.

Whoever said opposites attract was dead wrong, at least in some cases.

Ah, actually... I've read every story several times over (The Sil, UT, HoME books, etc., etc., etc.) and I knew what he was talking about... but he said when you think the following is romantic and then the last is 'getting your sister pregnant'... But Wayfarer is a bit... errr... strange anyway. If you haven't noticed.

-You constantly mix up Quenya with other languages- it takes you ages to remember what the word is in another language.

-You graffiti all you friends' school diaries with Tengwar and Quenya.. 'Mae Govannen! Mellon!..'

-You consider your greatest act of selflessness the time that you lent your poorly-deprived-of-Tolkien friend your copy of RotK. Because she loves the movies, and finds Aragorn & Arwen's story fascinating. Bit hard for you to break it to her that it is not very prominent in the books, and only really in the Appendices for 5 pages....

-Said friend, who has a LotR movie site, wrote a poem about Arwen and Aragorn, and you viciously edited it;
'Actually, the necklace isn't called Evenstar, that's her name. And it wasn't her immortality. And Elves were not the only ones with Immortality- there were the Valar, the Maia and other creatures. And "She gives her love, to who? Just a Ranger" sounds weird. I would say a Dunedain. Or Elessar, Estel, Dunadan, Heir of Isildur, Elfstone, Strider.....' etc etc...

Not a problem, TC.... There are so many fangirls here that haven't even read one story, just seen the movies that I can definitely see where you're coming from.

I don't have a sister.

And not just the last one, but all of those that I cited were the stories of strange tolkien romances:

A) Aragorn and Arwen
B) Sam and Rosy
C) Faramir and Eowen
D) Beren and Luthien
E) Turin and Nienor.

Notice I said any of the above, not all of the above.

In response to : don't have a sister... : Good!

As for the second part... yeah, I know.

As for the third... sorry, I didn't see that part "any of the above" (much relieved! was really thinking disgusting things about Wayfarer, more than usual... bla!).
