Well, I heard that my job has enough work available to keep me busy the whole summer, so even if I can't find a nice 3-month full-time job, I'll have work and thus money.
Now I can start making plans for my vacation in earnest!
And what's more: yesterday the party I was working at, was by a perfumestore-chain or something and they handed out perfumes to the guests, but there was a lot left, so we got some as well. I got the newest Dior fragrance. The smell is too strong for me, but I'm sure my mum will appreciate it Besides, I still have the stuff I got for my birthday.

That's nice.

What ARE everyone's plans for summer...and when does summer arrive? I suddenly realized my vacation was only about a month away. Too far, but closer than before.

Summer is from 01-06 to 31-08 for me. But vacation... that is only 1 or 2 weeks in that timespan, I don't care where as long as I'm home on 16-06. I think I'll make it 2 weeks though. I didn't have a summer vacation last year either.
My last real vacation... was March last year

Plans... I want to go to the US while the Euro is still strong *huge grin*

My Sweet Sixteen is this summer, and I am so so so stoked. I am sharing it with my cousin/sister, and its going to be this big bash with all of our friends and stuff. Oh yeah, and it is probably toga themed. Thus, A Midsummers Sweet Sixteen Toga Party !!!!!! We are still planning it, but its going to be really really really great. I cant wait!! I really want to jump out of a birthday cake...but maybe for my twenty-first..HAHAHAHAHA! But yeah, I am really excited, so if anybody has any suggestions, pleaseeeeeee feel free to let me know! The crazier the better. Just...no booze please, we'll save that for my twenty-first too....

Oh yeah, I am also an Enting now and not a Hobbit..I'm climbing up the charts!!

I'm going on the annual owl excursion to one of the university's field stations over the weekend! Something exciting always happens.. So, another weekend of staying up at night, and maybe getting a bit of sleep during the days..

Finally I get away from this damn city. XD

Hehe.. You'll probably get more of those next week, when we're actually visiting the nests.. Now we're moving at night, so the chance of getting photos of them aren't great. Other photos will probably be produced at daytime, though.

Great news (no, this is not about me going an vacation in 8 hours ):
we've got "kikkerdril" in our pond now. I don't know the English word for it, but hopefully they'll turn into frogs in a few weeks. Months? I have no idea how long that takes actually.
But isn't it great? I'm going to be an aunty of frogs soon!

*is -naturally- insanely jealous*

Why is it that you spend years enticing frogs to your ponds and and everybody else has frogs laying eggs in their pond without trouble at all? Man, building an ecosystem is hard...

No no, we got the eggs from the pond on the corner. They have ducks and "reigers" coming by on a regular basis, so we could try and have them here. It's only 3 houses down the road anyway

Kikkerdril = tadpoles, in English. At least, tadpoles are what normally turn into frogs.

I meant the stage before that, when they are still inside the eggs. Thanks
Of course I could have looked it up in a dictionary, but I was too lazy to go search for it in my bookcase... sorry >_<

Hm, technically all amphibians are protected in Belgium which means you're not allowed to move either individuals or the eggs. Although if there was a public pond in the vicinity like the one you said, I must say I'd be awefully tempted. I would so very much like to see tadpoles in our pond.

Reigers would be herons, by the way. Tadpoles are indeed 'kikkervisjes' (do you also have the word 'dikkopje' for them, Mari, or is this purely Belgian?) I call 'kikkerdril' simply frog eggs in English, but I believe the correct term is frog-spawn.

It wasn't a public pond, but the pond from our neighbours 3 houses down I don't know about protection here though.

I tried "kikkerdril" in 2 online dictionaries, but they both said frog drill... I think they translated it literally >_<
We also have "dikkopjes", but I thought that term was only used when they were starting to get legs or something like that. And thanks for the heron... I'm way too lazy getting that dictionary
