Farmer Cotton told Frodo the big people "shot one or two of our folk".

Lobelia died the spring after she was released from the Lockholes.

So the answer is nebulous.

At the Tree Farthing Stone was one of them, I think. I can't remember the other places though.

Wow, I finally found it. Guthlaf from whom Theoden seized a great horn and blew such a blast upon it that it burst asunder.
