8 days! I'll get back on the 12th.
I wonder what the average age of our group mates will be... Perhaps they can teach me how to play bridge.

*Brutus simply watches, bemused, as a tiny person beats him with a mace*

Have fun on your vacation, I gotta go.

I just read, on another one of those reliable sources on the mighty Internet, that the name Hannah, from which my name, Hannele, is derived, literally means God has graced me with a son. And I get a feeling that that might explain something about me and who I am.

Until I regain some of the sanity I lost in a swamp a long time ago.

well, if a person's name would have any kind of impact on the person, it might explain my rather alternative view of gender, and especially on mine. but then again, i just found this out, so how could it?

So... perhaps it means diddly squat?

My name (derived from 'Hannah') means the same thing ... 'cept I always just read it as bestowed with grace. And as anyone who knows me personally will attest, there is not a graceful or grace-filled bone in my body.

I think it literally means "God has graced me", but it is taken to mean "with a son", because of the Biblical story of Hannah.

I got some new knitting needles of my very own and some yarn! I'm starting to regret this color though- it's the color change kind with light blue and brown and green. But I'm making something for my kitty out of it so I don't think he'll mind. I just started working on it a while ago and it's already about 8 cm long and the width of the needles. I could finish it tonight...

Black books makes me happily laugh madly in my empty flat when the moon is rising.

It's a belter. Dylan Moran is genius. His stand-up is great if you get a chance to see it.

indeed he is. and i've seen 'monster' and 'like, totally..' - would love to see him live, though.

it's strange, though. after watching all that stuff, everything in a row in a few days, a small bernard black has settled into my mind..

I'm such a heathen... I can't stand Black Books and if I can get by without seeing a bill bailey stand up, I'll be a happier person. It just smacks of formulaic english comedy. Sorry.

Oh, I love xkcd! Though I've been rather disappointed in it lately. The older comics are much better. The new ones are funny, but they're starting to lose the magic that set xkcd apart from other funny things. IMO.
