I don't think it's so far out. I want to own all of them someday, but I can only get them when I find them.

But my point is that there are many works authored by Tolkien, and not all of them have anything to do with Middle-earth (except passing reference).

Or AUS for Arts Undergrad Society, go Forestry!
I've been in this thread so long, I can't remember what I thought I posted and what I actually posted. But anyway... You know you're obsessed with LotR when you compare the Faculty of Forestry to the Elves, and the Engineers to the Dwarves, and then you back it up with legitamite (sp?) points like, they are rivals, and these are things the Elves and Dwarves would actually study etc. I think Hobbits would be Agricultural Sciences, Men would be Arts, the Istari would be Commerce. Orcs would be the Teaching Assistants! (I'm only saying that because they went on strike for a month and caused students no end of trouble.) Wow. (I'm done my exams, and going a little nuts. Bear with me here... ) edit: I actually said Arts instead of Forestry! How could I make such a heinous mistake!?

Hey Lai, maybe this one won't sound as funny in German, and since Tolkien made it up, it can't be deemed 'bad' as some have already done to my other ones...
'By Root and twig' or 'By root and branch' Other ways: -You do not recall a single lunchtime/recess in which you haven't spoken about LotR-related things (e.g today when I spent a whole lunchtime discussing the lineage of both Aragorn and Arwen and about Aman, the star of Earendil and the Fall of Numenor. |

You are obsessed with Tolkien if you consider 'romance' to be:
A) Taking over a country and then using your political influence to get a spouse. B) Going off on an epic quest to save the world and then coming home and marrying a person who hasn't even appeared in the story before, but has appearently been pining for you all this time. C) Nearly getting yourself killed by an evil creature, and then meeting someone in the hospital who has done the same and falling in love. D) Running off with the one you love to steal trinkets from the most evil and dangerous person you know. E) Getting your sister pregnant.
