That relief is the symbol of my family actually. I have it on a pendant that is old as god knows what.

Yes, quite. I can trace my illustrious lineage to Cyrus the Great, though fat lot of good that does me, my country is still hostage to Arabs and their Islam, and for all my old schoolness, I and my fellow patriots are having little effect in dislodging them.

No, holy horse actually. Either horse or lion. Though, we do also respect the white bulls. Hell, we respect all animals but lions, horses and white bulls are tops.

Ooo - I was reading a Nat'l Geographic yesterday, and ran across this photo and short story about Iranian women who are specialised police; they have their own police target-practice building, where they fine-hone their bad-ass skillz. I thought of you, from the other day when you were saying how tough and strong Iranian women are. Very cool.

Yes, I do say, and so do the family records that are currently in the vault at the National Museum in Terhan. My brother's have the nose, or, well, only two do now because my second eldest got it broken pretty badly. Still handsome though.
And no, it's taking down a bull. In the Shahnameh, epic of Iran and her Kings, Rostam's horse Raksh actually kills a lion and helps him defeat a jiin in the form of a dragon.
