I just saw Beowulf and it was a big let-down. It really didnt follow the original story at all. I was really put out after seeing it. In my opinion, baring the fact that the story was slaughtered, it really wasnt even a great film. Gonna see The Mist Wednesday, though, and I'm really looking forward to that. Although I can see from the previews that they dont follow the original story either. At least not to a T. But as long as they keep as close as they can to the original story it oughta be good.

Have you not noticed that most of the Book-to-films don't follow the story to a T, Nautipus. They all leave out something or add to it.

I know, that's what I'm saying, you cant always follow a book to a T when making a movie. Sometimes it's just not possible, but I hope they stay as close as they can, which should be relatively easy with this movie.

Amazing Grace ~ great movie. Powerful and beautiful at the same time. Those of you that know me know I don't use those words to discribe a movie very often

I didnt really have any inclinations to go see it. I did, however, see The Mist, which was a great movie (to me) up until the end. That was not like the book at all. I was dissapointed with the ending, but the rest was very close to the book.

No one seen the Golden Compass yet? I want to go there with my sis, but the critics are apparently very very bad. However, I trust the opinion of my fellow phantasy, Philip Pullman books loving mooters more than of some halfwit Dutch critics, so please tell me what you thought of it.

Really? It came out here yesterday, with subs. Perhaps they're doing a worldwide release? Usually the US is earlier then the Netherlands.

Love Affair w/ Irene Dunne. Cute! Very entertaining. What can I say? I'm a sap for black and white movies.

I've just seen:
Halloween, Not scary enough for me but still a good thrill. Gotta love Mrs. Sheri Moon! Pretty good graphic scenes too. John Petrucci -Rock Disipline, (for guitar) Very thorough! Good practice techniques & warm ups! Cool stuff. Rescue Dawn, Really good for a war show. I enjoyed the whole thing, right to the end! I recommend this one! I Know who Killed me, Dumb. I hated it. Lots of stripping though, thanks to Ms. Lohan (Where can I learn that stuff!?) Superbad, Well, super bad. Fracture, Cool thriller. Very interesting film. I always root for the bad guy... Captivity, Was pretty cool. Didn't much like the ending, but it had a horror-show appeal to it as a whole. I enjoyed this one.

I didn't understand Rescue Dawn. It was so mainstream; that's not like Herzog at all!
Have recently seen: The Lookout. Meh. Finding Neverland. A decent film about a creative mind, but it wasn't quite all there. Knocked Up. What's the point? The Island. Decent thriller, some good visuals, plot on the weak side, good message. Curse of the Golden Flower (again). Simply beautiful. Stunning visuals, probably the most magnificent thing I've seen on the screen. Plot is decent as well, interesting twisted Byzantine Imperial Family politics, and the corruption and depravity of the characters (except Prince Jai) contrasts with the sumptuous background to make a magnificent portrayal of decadence at its height.

I just saw it too and it was excellent! Amy Adams is a cutie. There were also lots (well, three) handsome, dark-haired, blue-eyed and chisell-jawed guys in the movie.
