True
I find that since I've started work instead of being a student I've a lot less time to be on-line though. I know many of the old garde have moved on to other places in their lives.

One more comment on your sig: It's "You won't understand their reply."
(Sorry, I'm an English teacher )
Or was that intentional?

It's okay. We aren't very active these days, that's true. But we still have at least four active administrators who have very little to do when it's this quiet.

Yeah, my time to roam the 'net has been a lot shorter since my student days. I'd have trouble keeping up with the 'moot if it was as active as its highdays.

It means that they will talk in Tolkien related terms that you won't understand. Or they will go on some LOTR tangent. Or they will respond with elvish or dwarf insults (In that language ). I found it on this thread on this post

I think Mari is referring to the tenses you used rather than the meaning. 'You'll won't' as opposed to 'You won't'. The latter seems the more correct but I don't know whether the former is colloquial.

I will not be able to post much here anymore
Its not that I don't enjoy it, its just that my mom found out that I spend more time here than I do on my schoolwork

If you get to come back - try just sticking with current threads, instead of digging into the ancient vaults. As wonderful as that stuff is - it can really soak up time.

Your mom is right: schoolwork – and real work – both come first.

However … Spring Break … and Summer Vacation … Hope to see you then!

Have you ever seen The Librarian? It's even more wonderfully terrible than National Treasure

I dunno, I liked The Librarian better than National Treasure. Although the sequels (yes, two even!) can't live up to the campy fun of the first.

That said, National Treasure II had Ed Harris, which was a vast approvement. Spoiler:
Although they could have so easily kept him alive, still a bit miffed there.

Hope you have fun, NEL.

Yes, it IS better. That's why I said even more wonderfully terrible. 'Cause let's face it: it's isn't exactly an A-rate film now is it? I do love those

The Librarian seems MUCH more like Night at the Museum, than it seems like National Treasure!

I got to check it out

Thank you, we did It's just that she's somewhat difficult considering as to what to do after the movie; she always says "Anything goes" - try to think of something after that! X)

Then let her come up with an idea? It's an emancipated world after all

I did, she wanted to watch Niko Kivelä (a Finnish stand-up comedian, darn good); but usually she just repeats "Anything's alright" over and over.

Now I'll go watch James Bond with my sis

I'm very much the same way. I hate making decisions about what to watch/eat/do/etc. when I'm with other people. I've gravitated toward friends who don't mind making those choices, simply because I'm so miserable when I'm put in that position. If I'm forced, I always end up picking whatever I think everyone else wants anyway.

However, after being with my husband for five years, I've become much better at offering suggestions when it's just the two of us (to his relief!) I hope the same happens for you, NEL

Thanks, tolkienfan The funny thing is, she's told me that when she's with her two best friends, she's the girl who makes all the decisions, and the others follow. We discussed this in Skype, and I replied "But when with me, you let me take the lead?" She just said "Yeah " Then again, trying to understand women... X) You just gotta love 'em, not understand 'em

Maybe it's just that thing where women feel content and safe with the man making the decisions?

Never worked for me
I tend to actually sort of test dates if they can make choices and let me make mine on the first date. If there's one thing I can't stand is people without an opinion who let me walk all over them, or who can't respect my opinion.

Ah yes. I guess I was stuck on deciding whether to interpret the 'wonderfully terrible' as 'so terrible it was good' or 'a terrible movie but still loads better than the other terrible movie.'

I agree it's a B-film, strangely though, those are often more entertaining than A-films.

A bit stereotypical statement, no? You can turn it around too, maybe she's trying to spare your feelings because some men can['t] stand not being the one who makes the decisions as it makes them feel unmanly.

Maybe she just wants to relax from having to make all the decisions with her friends. It can be exhausting.

Or she finds herself agreeing with most of your choices anyway which may mean you two are a good fit.
