Okay, here is my new one. My last one was a triffle hard, so I've made this one a bit easier!

Incised into the southern face,
After the Great War,
Destruction, but newly replaced,
Old man shall be no more.

BoP: I'll doubt if I can manage 3 in a row. But who doesn't try, doesn't win. Um...let's see...mmm tough one...the statue at crossroads? (why does this seem to be a possible answer for nearly every riddle posted here?)

I'm not sure how to say it without giving it away but I'll try...It's kind of the crucial sentence in the riddle. It makes the difference between the guesses you've made so far and the answer I had in mind. Is that making it any better?

Okay, in my mind anyway, I keep thinking of 'stepsraised' as a kind of elevation... which leads me to think of the Valar, or a constellation or something. It's the fact that you've chosen to make it one word, as with the others, that stumps me. Is this part of the riddle? Duality, but housed in one entity?

No, it's much simpler than that. I didn't make it one word for a particular reason. It just kinda happened. I probably did it to match the 'wildfaced' Yawn, Good luck but I'll have to leave ya to it. I'm hitting the sack. goodnight.

I did try Eärniel's, if you weren't paying attention. She just hasn't said whether it was right or not. (It's obviously wrong.)As for your's, is it the statue of the White Hand that the Ents knocked down? I can't think of any thing else.

Ok, this is the thought I had on BoP's. The mounds outside Edoras where the kings are buried, Theoden after he dies is buried in one of them (but I don't remember which direction it was N,S, E or W), on the same note, Were the houses of the Dead is Gondor arranged to the South, then it could be Denethor...
