So, we got assigned stuff for my classical literature class. We have to give a 15 minute presentation on a speech from Plato's The Symposium.

My group got assigned the one about Achilles. And his lover. Patrocles.

*tiny scream* whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhy? *sigh* This is pretty much the last thing I wanted to be thinking about and/or discussing... especially lately. From a Greek classical standpoint or otherwise.

Dude. That Greek love is fascinating. No sympathy from me.

Why do you have to study Greek literature as a business major?

It's a liberal arts college, so you do business as well as a little of everything else.... science, art, litt.,etc.

A minor vent.... something got into my bed last night and bit me at least four or five times on my legs, and then this morning while I was playing the piano I think a mosquito or spider bit me on the neck and on the knee. Even though I haven't scratched, the back of my neck has a swollen bump and so does my knee, which is what makes me think it might've been a spider.

Oh well.

Meh. It seems my eerie feeling about that job interview last week wasn't entirely unfounded. They called today and couldn't offer me the job atm. Still, the final say won't be until Monday so there's still a slice of hope.

Oh well. Anti-vent: New job interview tomorrow in another city. Less pay but it's on the magnificent west coast.

Fingers crossed for you.

Minor vent: Two of my team mates didn't show up for the meeting, and our presentation is tomorrow! We were assigned the topic last Thursday, so we've only had a few days to begin with.... but today one person texted me to say that he had a family emergency, and the other person just never showed. Luckily one of the people showed up (it's a four person group), so I wasn't totally on my own.... but we had to scrap any plans for a powerpoint because no one was here to contribute to it. Sooooo the other guy and I decided that everyone will just do a one-page handout, and if we have time before class we'll staple them all together into a "packet."

... hopefully I can get in touch with the other two people before tomorrow to let them know that we decided that.

It's not a huge deal, because the teacher grades individually (i.e. "You were prepared, but no one else in your group was, so you get an A and they get a D." None of this "one person wasn't ready so I failed the group," crap). But it's a little stressful.

I was about to vent about my job and the pains of a cracked skull but then I read this:

Then this:

And happen to agree with this:

And also think that this is a good idea too:

With the end result of laughing so hard that I hiccuped beer up my nose and onto the keyboard. And it was worth it, because I no longer feel the need to vent.

0_O that would've SUCKED. Thankfully no, it is merely a light orbital fracture. Stupid car door.

I don't think there's a pillow fort in the world that can hold Sane.

Dumb door!! Should've been a horse - they're worth getting a skull fracture over (or a broken nose, in my case). Hope you feel better soon!
