Hmmm, maybe next year we should plan it so we can come to eachother's parties...

There is another Mother's Day that gets celebrated in this province in autumn. So not only does mom get to have two Mother Days (because we never remember which one we celebrate so we do both) and I tend to stock up gifts in case such a day sneaks up on me unnoticed. Luckily my mother is very easy to get gifts for, the way she devours books.
Two?!? Oh my goodness, that would be horrible. My mother is so difficult to buy something nice (and lasting) for!
This year we had to buy her a tablecloth. It's what she wanted, but it's just so... so... I don't know. Not fun to give.
If stocking up is an option, that's a very good idea though! I do jot down titles for books I think my father is interested in occasionally but buying in advance would be difficult. >_<

GW, moving it back to GM is not going to magically keep it alive indefinitely. Some threads just die, and your game has gone on for a lot longer than I would have given it credit for. Besides, activity all over the Entmoot has lessened of late. But who knows, it may be revived at some date. And a writing game should be in the Writers' Workshop, not GM, that's why I moved it in the first place.

Buying gifts in advance is a bit of a habit with us. We seldom have time near Christmas, other holidays or birthdays to do in-depth shopping, so we tend to buy something when we see it and keep it in reserve. I've had gifts before of which it was plain my family had bought them months before because they hadn't had any other opportunity to do so.

I keep a 'gift box' in my closet in which I keep the (small) gifts I buy during the year and each time a gift-giving opportunity comes along and there wasn't a 'I want this' List, then I go rummage in the box. It has come real handy over the years, although the box has become way too small now.

I know most of my parents' favourite authors by now, but there's always the risk that the person you've bought a book for, might buy it themselves before you've got a chance to give it. So two years ago, I've made my mother a book database. Now every time a book gets bought (regardless of whether it's a gift and won't be given just yet) it gets entered in the database and we've got booklists printed which we take along if we go to a book fair or shop, so we don't end up with double books. It's really useful because we are a very prolific book-buying family.

This is the same point I've been trying to make with people around my home town. Some of them went to see it and loved it, the rest just don't know what awesomeness they're missing.

Most definitely, it's one of those movies we all have to see before we "pass on".

Well, I do really want to see it, but I leave home at 6.30, get back at 6.30 or later, need to have dinner, get homework and internship preparations done and then I need sleep badly. And this goes on for at least 2 more weeks. No free weekends either.

Oh no, I haven't noticed. I haven't been counting down the days or anything. Nor have I noticed that it comes out the day before my birthday, no, not at all

What a birthday present! I am taking my two youngest sisters because they're both Potter-nuts. And it's a good excuse for me to go too since no one I know would even consider it

Soon it's summer wow

I know! I'm going to the midnight showing (those are the best-I'm dressing up this year! I didn't last year), and then on the 18th I'm taking my friends for my birthday, can't wait!

I can't believe it's summer soon, I can hardly wait. Pre-calc has skinned me raw...

I've heard. How is one not a real person if one doesn't see it? Does that make one a ghost?

The movie looks great, but I will admit I haven't seen the Da Vinci Code or read any of Dan Brown's Books.

How can people watch the Star Trek series? The acting is horrible!
