City of Lost Children. Very surreal and bizarre, in an interesting way. It reminded me a lot of Terry Gilliam's directorial endeavours.

A Midsummer Night's Dream: Weird. Very weird. Shakespeare, but weird.
Chicken Run (I've been babysitting again): Sort of like "The Great Escape" except with chickens.

Connery's character is prolly the most sarcastic character, whith the exception of Hellboy, I've seen.

Stardust.

A lot better than I dared to hope: and De Niro made it a brilliant film. Absolutely worth watching.

No, unfortunately I haven't.. But one of the friends I went with had read it, but still loved it. According to him, it seemed like they weren't trying to make it identical to the story in the book, but came up with some new things together with Gaiman.

It's always risky to make a movie based on a book.. I hope you like it anyway!

I guess you don't watch too many war movies outside Hollywood eh? Try watching:

Kokoda - A very realistic movie of the Australian reservists defense against the Japanese in New Guinea

Stalingrad - Depicts the gritty urban battle and the struggles from the eyes of a German combat platoon.

Cross of Iron - A story of a German platoon battling the Russians a year after Stalingrad. James Coburn is Sgt. Steiner and Maximilian Schell is Cpt. Stransky. A bit dated as it was filmed without CGI, and a couple technical flaws (like Pvt. Ryan) but it has such a gritty realism to it, especially in the hand-to-hand combat scenes.

Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War - A Korean movie about the Korean war. I recommend the sub-titled version as the feeling in the actor's lines DO NOT come across at all in the dubbed version. A VERY realistic movie in their use of explosions and CGI, and quite a gripping story as well.

You want Americans? then give the mini-series Band of Brothers a watch. Quite a 'real' feel to it, especially in the Ardennes scenes.

And for fun...

Kelly's Heroes - A technically correct "war" movie set in France in mid 1944, it is sort of a black comedy along the lines of 'M.A.S.H'. or 'Catch-22', only with a strain that has you believe it all may have been possible. It has fun with parodies of Patton, and even a modernized scene right out of one of Clint Eastwood's westerns. Definitely worthy of a watch.

Nice! I like that, when they make some changes to suit the movie format better, but I feel the author of the book should have a say in it. I'll have to go see it!

Boondock Saints, what an amazing, ridiculous, terrible film. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it, but I have a bad habit of criticising movies and this one starts to break down when you do that LOL.

The Birds has to be the most over rated hitchcock movie.

It is a little bit. I liked the scene where she is sitting outside the school and the birds just land behind her, and then when she finally notices. Some of his others are better though. I recently saw Psycho, that one was great. Rear Window was overrated IMO, the acting was good but the ending was a letdown.
