It's a bit late, but since late is preferable to never, I'll just introduce myself now.
 My name is Mari and I found this board a few months ago when I was looking for a song and found the anthem thread. Off course I couldn't ignore the fact that there was no Dutch anthem there, so I joined to post! So far I haven't really ventured outside of the General area of Entmoot, since some of you really scare me with all the knowledge you've got about Tolkien.  But if there is anything that strikes my fancy, I'll be sure to post.  I love reading, mostly science fiction and fantasy. I sing a lot, but I can't play any instrument even after 6 years of keyboard lessons... In discussions I'm not very good at wording my arguments, so if you don't get it: my fault. Also, I'm a bit of an idiot at times, but hey, I can live with myself, so who cares! You know, I'm starting to wonder if I really didn't introduce myself before... I forgot Anyway: 今からもよろしくね！

Well, I guess I'll introduce myself too. I joined a couple of weeks ago. I was doing a Google search for something about where the "fiery pit" that Maedhros threw the silmaril into. I think the exact search words were "Mordor" and "Maedhros" as I wanted to look for anything about Mount Doom being the fiery pit and sure enough I found it on a topic on this forum. Then I got to looking at a number of other topics here and found that this place had been around a long time (a long time as far as the modern internet goes) and I asked myself, "gee, I wish I would have known about this place like 8 years ago." So that's how I got here. How I got here, physically, is a long story (very long story). Not long ago, a couple of years ago, I created a web server and hosted a site called Phoenix Galactic Alliance, that was dedicated to the community for the Star Trek game called Star Trek: Armada. Since then it's become temporary headquarters for the Altair Creative Networks organization. In 2004 EA Games made the game Battle for Middle Earth, and that was pretty awesome. I was like "they made a game out of that!?" Obviously I found it to be a pretty good game so on our site we have that game as part of discussion there. I like movie soundtracks such as Gladiator, Lord of the Rings series, Star Trek movies, Star Wars series, King Arthur, Hunt for Red October, Crimson Tide, etc. Web development and modifying games is something that keeps me occupied when I'm not working. I love my girlfriend and traveling. She's the one who actually introduced me to Lord of the Rings (the book). It's a good thing I like traveling or else that trip from Valinor to here would have been very boring. Here happens to be the State of Pennsylvania, United States, North American continent. What age it is now is anyone's guess. Going to the park is one of my favorite things to do, to get closer to nature. I'd like to venture to Cuiviénen again to see what it looks like now. But of course it's been lost in these long years. Pity. It's probably a town or village or city now. Nice to see so many introductions here. |

Back from attending classes in the US!

And I came back to Entmoot. I love it here. I was taking classes in the United States in International Relations/Global studies in an attempt to get a REAL job. No teacher could pronounce any part of the name MaïtÃ*mo KÃ¥levï Ylihärsilä, so I told them to call me Matt. It was depressing. Hey! At least you guys can pronounce my first name. Anyway, I'm very sleepy and jet-lagged, but I hope to talk to everybody soon.
