I see it is high time for a question, and I'll take your suggestion, Spock, and make it about SAM

What did Sam forget to take when the Fellowship left Rivendell?

IIRC, it was Celeborn (not Selleborn ).
================================================== =====
Some trigonometric values:

SIN(0) is (SQRT(0)/2) = 0
SIN(30) is (SQRT(1)/2) = (1/2)
SIN(45) is (SQRT(2)/2)
SIN(60) is (SQRT(3)/2)
SIN(90) is (SQRT(4)/2) = 1

COS(0) is (SQRT(4)/2) = 1
COS(30) is (SQRT(3)/2)
COS(45) is (SQRT(2)/2)
COS(60) is (SQRT(1)/2) = (1/2)
COS(90) is (SQRT(0)/2) = 0

TAN(0) is (SQRT(0)/SQRT(4)) = 0
TAN(30) is (SQRT(1)/SQRT(3)) = 1/[SQRT(3)]
TAN(45) is (SQRT(2)/SQRT(2)) = 1
TAN(60) is (SQRT(3)/SQRT(1)) = SQRT(3) (it is about 1.732; the year that George Washington was born.)
TAN(90) is (SQRT(4)/SQRT(0)) = Undefined

Since it has been four days without a correct guess, I will give a hint. If no one answers correctly after 2 days, I will let the next person put a question up.

Hint: You will not find the answer after the Old Forest.

Hahah, found it... nice question, mithrand1r!

It beat old Noakes why a Baggins from Hobbiton would go looking for a bride in Buckland.

Correct. I am glad you liked my choice of question.

Your turn.

(I am sure that if everyone worked together, we can get a few thousand trivia questions from LOTR. Perhaps one day it can be put on one page with links to the correct answers.)

and then they broke for lunch

later on , Elrond summoned F&S to him, etc. etc. but the council was not re-conviened.
