I'm teaching myself how to play the guitar, and I've learned to pick out "The Road Goes Ever On And On" from the Rankin and Bass "The Hobbit".
It's such a sweet, almost sad song. *huggles the song* |

I just got back from La Fogatta, the nearest Mexican resturaunt.
TORTAS!!!! I love tortas! I could eat a dozen if guacamole didn't make my mouth sting (not allergies, I don't know why). Torta! Torta! Torta! *dances around*

Today I was at the beach. That was a bit too fun to count as one of the "little things that makes me happy." But anyway, at the beach I saw a couple very pretty young women. They weren't immodest, like so many women are at the beach, wearing as small of swim-suits as they can . They had nice colorful bathing suits and appeared just very pretty. I didn't talk with them at all, but just seeing them made me happy .

The church where I practice organ is having Bible Camp this week. Anyway...I was sitting at the organ working on a really loud, full postlude piece (and had been for a good while). A large group of kids (average age probably 8 or 9) runs by shouting and being very excited, led by Pastor Johnson (he was running and waving his arms just as much). One 10 year old leans over as he runs by and shouts in my ear "YOUR AWESOME!"
Then there was the other kid, probably 6, who kept peeking in the sanctuary doors at the back watching me. Every time I glanced over he quickly pulled his head back. This went on about 5 times until someone told him to leave the door shut.

Driving is the bomb. Little things that make me happy...
Driving the freeways around downtown L.A., heading to Hollywood, with some killer hard-house playing on the system of my 500 benz, with my best friend at my side, in the middle of the night when traffic's real mellow so we can zoot around at like 105 mph and switch lanes... ahhh, those were the days....

Hard house? Driving like a hooligan in traffic? I like that about you. I do that in the mornings on the way to work.
I get stares from across the road at intersections. I think it has something to do with their cars vibrating. I tend to be generous when it comes to bass. Last edited by Andúril : 08-07-2005 at 09:30 AM. |

After my car was broken into a few months ago, I took the liberty of installing 800WRMS of Pioneer VCCS fury and an overkill digital monoblock amp. Also picked up a parametric equalizer, as I tend to fine-tune the system to every song I listen to. But I'm always fiddling with the bass knob. Come to think of it, that is definitely one of the little things that make me happy--listening to music very loud. Last edited by Andúril : 08-06-2005 at 05:15 PM. |

I actually just remembered now that in my first reading of LotR, and the Silm, I was listening to uplifting hard house and dark trance right through. That was back in 2001. Memories.

Cello concertos of Dvorak conducted by von Karajan and performed by Yo-Yo Ma. Well, guess that would be impossible now, but what a fantasy, huh?!

-Getting surprise phone-calls from long lost friends and/or relatives -The sound of the breezes in the treetops, that sweet whishing, swishing sound...

- walking through the grass barefoot and caressing your purring cat in the back garden
- washing your hair and sitting in the warm sunlight to dry it (on a hot summer day no hairdryers allowed ) - realising that finally you could forgive someone - makes you feel sooo free from old trouble
