Oh - and on the Sears Tower spot... we'll be on the 54th floor, which is almost exactly halfway up. Since we're an architectural firm, we've joked about calling ourselves "Studio 54"
Even only halfway up, the views are great - and we have unobstructed views to the south and east (Lake Michigan!)... nice!

I've finished off two projects this week:
The laying of bricks underneath the cast-iron gate at my family's house. The assembling of a new IKEA computor desk (our old one was too small and rickity). |

Good news for RÃ*an: she can keep her Tolkien collection. The presentation went not so well. Presentation + Eärniel = nervous wrecked, stammering, inarticulate silly girl. Luckily my work was very solid so they didn't have many questions for me. And they were impressed by the amount of work. So I can finally conclude half a years work in a splendid 8/10! *dies happy*
Of course everyone I told I had passed and who hadn't followed the same course all asked whether I had had failed the first time and had had a retrial. *sighs* I can't help it my course ran exceptionally long so I only could defend my work around the same time other people who failed at the first row of exams normally take their retrials....

Got back from Arizona last night *yawn*
The 50th wedding anniversary for hubby's parents went really well We all got there (their 4 kids, their spouses, and 12 grandkids) and had a nice dinner at a restaurant Friday night, then a really nice, personal time where we shared 50 memories of them throughout the years on Sat. morning, and then a catered dinner at a local hall with our group and some additional relatives, where we had a slide show of pictures of them throughout the years, etc. A lot of work, but we pulled off everything we planned, and they really seemed blessed by it Now I just need to put together the scrapbook for them with pictures and the 50 memories by Christmas - that should be a nice memento for them.

Wow, for my grandparents 60th anniversary all we did was go to Carrows.
Of course, all of the many family members came, which nearly filled the restraunt.

We finished the painting, ripped out carpet, polished hardwood floor, and moved furniture back into my room
So close!

Maybe it's time to be a bit happy in all this sadness.. Small things can make us smile, if only for a little while.
Today at the food store, the girl at the pay office was really nice and polite, and wished me a nice evening. This gesture made rather glad.. Such a little thing. She was quite cute too but that wasn't the reason. It's so easy to make people feel better!

Am at college. Blessed with internet access from dorm room and chocolate cookies. Am learning simple innuendos in Latin. This is happy.

I'm happy today, because it's such a lovely Labor Day, so sunny and pleasant. My man and me are getting along nicely today, which always thrills me. I'm finally over my hideous depressed-hump, what a relief. Things are not-so-bad today. Shocker, I know, coming from me, but I gotta say - sometimes life is good. Things aren't always doom and gloom. Once in a while it's nice just to be alive.

well, good for you than, luckily for myself, i don't have a man, that would be a bit odd [you figure it out], so i suppose that's a reason to be happy?

Today was a fruitful day succesfully signed up for most of the English courses I wanted to - missed only one, and that is a lucky thing, I met mates who couldn't get in to 3 or 4. *greeeat relieved sigh* only Etnography thingies left for tomorrow Finished the day with meeting my best friend - her presence is always comforting, she always can make me laugh and feel light-hearted. My other half, so to say

yikes, I had to look that one up:
Main Entry: eth·nog·ra·phy Pronunciation: eth-'nä-gr&-fE Function: noun Etymology: French ethnographie, from ethno- + -graphie -graphy : the study and systematic recording of human cultures; also : a descriptive work produced from such research
