I would say that as a whole, the threads are "owned" by their starter, and they have certain rights and privileges with them. For instance, the "REAL Debate for RELIGION" thread (which isn't that different from Rian's ) I would consider to belong to Ruinel, the GLB thread I would consider to belong to LuthienChild (too bad she doesn't come anymore ). Some threads would seem to me to become autonomous upon creation, such as the Venting, Happy, and Happy Birthday threads, and have no such owner.

This is of course all IM-very-uninformed-O.

Mmm...young, juicy children...I hear they go very well with iceberg lettuce.

I'd say that it depends on the type of thread. If it's a RPG thread then I'd say that the starter as a right to the ownership of it if he/she wants. For a debate thread it's not so much ownership as the right to steer it to certain topics. Either way if the thread starter doesn't take responsibility for the thread than those who have posted the most consistently with the most pertenint posts should have responsibility for the thread.

I had promised several people I would post the thread concerning Fellowship of the Messageboard

For information concerrning the history of the argument for FotMB - you may look at - Debating the use of certain Entmoot messages on Aldesign's website thread

This is the original thread the Fellowship of the Messageboard grew out of...What would you do? heh heh heh . . .

It was a huge thing at the time. Ahhh - the history of Entmoot.

EDIT - I forgot there was this thread that got closed within on page - The Fellowship of the Messageboard thread

You mean no one remembers that it was me and my negative energy that created the first ever Venting thread with my super angry post?!?

No? Oh well. I think I agree with Willow:

Could be, but SGH is pretty much the only non-slacking admin here... and the mods don't seem to do much anymore... they leave it to SGH to run around putting out the fires.

If it weren't for her, I think this board would slowly slip into chaos and drop that PG-13 rating.

hmmm... perhaps I should start a new thread on this very topic: 'why are Entmoots mods such slackers?'

Actually, I started the REAL Debate for Religion thread because Rian pointed out that her Offshoot thread was to give the other Mooters a thread to ask question about Christianity. I wanted another thread that would allow for all questions and discussions about various religions, not just Christianity.

Ok... here's what I'm saying...

I pretty much stick to certain forums. And these are just my observations, that's all.

I've been in the LotR Movie forum when things got hot. Does azalea or crickhollow ever go fix the fights and lay down the law? no... SGH took on that problem.

Now, let's take "Other Topics"...

in GM... who does all the moderating there? It says Khamul, HOBBIT and bmilder are supposed to be moderating. However, it's SGH that I see doing all the work there, too.

I'm only giving credit where credit is due. This is no slight to anyone here, so don't come after me with an axe!

Touchy little she-elf, aren't you?

And I wasn't doing anything with that axe, I swear! Honest! I was only looking!

No, seriously now, I'm not feeling slighted by your comments. I meant my post in a funny way, sorry if that didn't come accros that way. I guess I'll have to practise on that smiley of mine.

I've seen azalea and crick moderate at several occasions. But not every mod and admin can be on the boards continually (I shouldn't even be here right now, but then I'm an addict with a poor sense of priorities.)

I do admire SGH for the large time and effort she pours in her moderating work and even finding still time to squabble with you over Finrod.

Is that clearer?

I've not been around as long as most of you guys, but I've always considered that the person who started the Thread has a right to have their opinion about where it is going respected - a moral right rather than a legal one.

But what always gets me is just how quickly some people jump in and take them right off topic as fast as they can - almost like if the Thread isn't going where they want it they're not the star of the show. Sad really.
