I think you should keep the list to things that Jackson would seriously consider doing, but that we do not wish to see.
He might consider having the Battle of Five take up half the movies. The best effect your letter could have would be if you pointed out how the movie would be better by not doing this. Convince Jackson that the best movie he could possibly make would be to adapt it as closely as humanly possible to the book. This is done most effectively by limiting yourself to only the most important points. One important point is staying true to the spirit of the book, partly by making as little changes as possible. Those changes that are made out of necessity should also reflect the spirit of the book.

I think the letter should include a list of all the major scenes we do not want taken out. I know we all want everything not taken out but.....that may not happen. We see how they chopped out a bunch of important and extremely memorable parts from RotK. What scenes are most important to us from the Hobbit?
Oh...this is not working. I certainly cannot think of a scene we could do without. No can do. They better not screw this up! |
