All of the women in my family have a thing for shoes... I myslef have 22 pairs (I didn't know I had so many!), and then I share shoes with my mom, and then my mom shares shoes with my sister, and then we all share shoes with my grandmother...

Isn't it the pits when you finally find an outfit that is comfortable, suits the weather, makes you look good, and then....you don't have any shoes that look right with it! I probably have 20 pairs of shoes, but tons of clothes! (Goodwill! ) It's true about mens shoes costing more! I always cringe when it's time for hubby to buy a new pair! Thank goodness he only needs a few kinds! I like shoes more than I used too, I like to find comfortable ones with a heel, (hard! ) cause it's so much fun to be taller!

Let's see, I have 8 pairs of shoes. I have my dressier shoes, my dressy sandals, my 2 pairs of regular wear-with-shorts-in-the-Summer sandals, 3 pairs of sneakers, and I have my pants shoes that only look good with pants. And yes I need them all! I wish I had more but I'm completely broke.

AE, I don't really know what you mean. You tell me if this is too much.

I own:
For fun...
1 pair of Teva water sandals
1 pair of backpacking boots
1 pair of hiking boots
(no, I don't own any sneakers/trainers. I hike/walk/excercise in my backpacking boots because they add extra weight and get me trained for backpacking.)
Casual...
winter...
1 pair of black army style boots
1 pair of brown ankle boots
summer...
1 pair of light brown flat sandals
1 pair of black sandle-ish type sandals
For work...
winter...
1 pair of black leather calf high boots
1 pair of brown leather calf high boots
summer...
1 pair of blue dress shoes
1 pair of black dress shoes
1 pair of black dress shoes
For special occasions...
1 pair of silver high heal strappy sandals (closed toe)

This is my entire inventory of shoes. Is it too much? I know men with more shoes than this.

Are you kidding me? I paid $75 for that pair of silver shoes! But oh... they are sooooo comfy. I can wear them all night long if I have to.

Shoes... I have a pair of sandals, and a pair of everyday shoes which I have had for two or three years. I couldn't care less if my shoes match my clothes. My everyday shoes are black, so they'll do fine at concerts. No one notices anyway. Shoes shopping is my MOST HATED activity. Nothing I like, everything is so gaudy and expensive and narrow and small... There is so much I will not wear.

If it were up to me, I'd be barefoot 90% of the time (jagged rocks).

Not "match", just look proportionate and asthetically pleasing! There's a diff! Shoe shopping is grueling, (almost everything is uncomfortable!) but not as bad as brassiere purchasing! Talk about a boring hassle! (yet very important )

You guys need to seriously get into the whole shopping rhythm!

I can proudly boast my shoe closet as follows:

Tekkies (what we call sneakers)
2 Pairs Nike
2 Pairs Adidas
1 Pair Reebok
2 Pairs Sketchers

Boots
4 Pairs Black knee height
1 Pair Brown Knee height
1 Pair Brown seude ankle height
1 Pair 'Camel' suede ankle height

Sandals
7 Pairs strappy black
1 Pair strappy silver
2 Pairs strappy brown

Casual / Clogs
4 Pairs black
2 Pairs brown
1 Pair beige

And then an assortment of about 15 pairs of slops, strops and slippers and stuff.

And I have a handbag to match every pair of shoes that I own. So I'm a shopaholic - sue me

Well yes. I wouldn't wear my normal shoes with shorts or in the rare event I was wearing a dress or skirt. But being barefoot is the best, you must admit it.

Being barefoot the best! No...I mean,
A. It get's my feet filthy, flat out black....ick!
B. It hurts the bottoms of my feet. Rough concrete, rocks, mulch, unknown yucky stuff....
C. bee stings
D. No shirt, no shoes, no service
E. Who knows what icky stuff might be on the ground, I need a layer of protection

I have lots of clogs, they are my fave. They look ok with my long dresses and skirts, also pants. Now purses...those are fun!

Holy $h!T!! I assume you are kidding!! The black boots are dressy. The hiking boots are actually hiking boots, not some psuedo-mall-hikers like Timberland, or some such. You obviously have never hiked or backpacked all day for 5 days straight. I have some awesome Zamberlan backpacking boots! Once I got them broken in, no blisters... ever. I would never, ever part with them now.

Hats & jewelry? Aren't we getting off topic people.
