Yes, the Bosstones are ska. Sorry about that, what I'm listening to tends to deeply affect what I'm typing...even if it's completely unrelated...

I watched the VH1 thing on the inductions to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night. The Clash part was nice! I enjoyed it all actually, except Arwen's dad. Oh, he's ok, but he talks too much, just like Dwight Yoakum. I really laughed when the guy from U2 told Sting the Police were just some "white reggae" band! hee hee!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned MXPX. They're legendary around here.

I also like Sum41 (at least Fat Lip) and Relient K.

Yeah! Someone gave my husband the CD. I noticed he hasn't listened to it though! He enjoys that Earl Scruggs style of banjo playing. Maybe I should listen. Some things are better in their pure form though.....The Rastabilly Rebels came from a guy who started out doing punk (because he could not "play" anything, the classic punk...."You don't have to know how to play your instrument" thing), then was able to to learn a simple reggae style, and threw it out on rockin country stuff, like Web Wilder and Steve Earl. It was funny to see the "stage look" for this, (the look was a big deal with him! ) A redhead with huge dread locks, and then a western style hat and boots thing going on with the clothes. OH! That reminds me of a great "country punk" band, of the old days, remember Jason and the Scorchers! Good! Sorry, I'm rambling, WAKE UP!......

Im an avid fan of the whole concept of cross platform music in any form. You get tremendous creations that way. And you allow music to evolve.

you know i was wondering about that myself. i think i saw earlier this thread as kennedys and i think thats what it is. yeah...

eh. i don't really know what i'm talking about. i like most of these good bands that have already been mentioned especially the "old school" as Lizra said. so yeah that's about it. my friend likes this group called Die Arzte (with a little two dot accent on the A) that i have heard a couple songs of. has anyone heard of them? actually thats pretty random. i think i'll shut up now.

No doubt is basically pop infused with punk energy. but its a long way from punk. but whats her name is a complete babe. i so want her.

good charlotte is basically poppy kiddie hard rock.

Godsmack has some decent tracks.

MxPx is my favourite punkrock band.
Also love Reliant K, I've got a big scar from one of their concert , their buffalo fell and scraped my arm.

I'm going to a Good Charlotte/Less Than Jake/A New Found Glory concert later in April.

I -hate- Relient K. Let me start off by saying that Punk Rockers don't play on Veggietales.

The Distillers is my punk band of choice. Lead singer is Brody Armstrong, lead singer of Rancid's wife.
