Recommend favorite horror movies - Page 2

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, i just watched again on satday night then went out hunting with some mates and we kept hearing this moaning sound but it might have just been cows (i was convinced i heard Deliverance Banjos playing when i was skiing a few years back and that was scarier) but i had a shovel handle and i think that that would take down that damn leatherface

i think a lot of things could of taken down leather face unless your a girl and a small bathing suit then your ment just to run around screaming and bouncing.

and technically is Deliverance a horror movie though i can definatly see the fear it brings to most men POOR POOR NED

Come on. Horror shows dont always have to be all gory and gucky. I was in the stage play of Dracula which wasn't gory at all...it COULD'VE been REAL bad (Dracula's vixens eat a baby in the unedited version. Tasty). And then the last one that I watched was "The Mothman Prophecies". It doesn't have any gore or blood, but the camera angles are wacky so it looks like Richard Gere's character is being watched and what not. But the thing that's REALLY scary is that the movie is based on actual events.
Is Nasferatu the Dracula movie with Christopher Lee in it? Or is that another one. I want to watch it cause I like Christopher Lee. He's a neat guy. Very good actor and what not.

ps. Why dont you try to read a horror book. Those things can usually be more freaky than watching a movie based on the book cause you can get a visualiation (sp?) your own self.
pps. What about the 6th Sense? Would that count as Horror? I watched it and it was ok. Didn't phase me at all.

No. Nosferatu came several years earlier than the Christopher Lee version.

BoP, are you talking about the old, silent Nosferatu movie?

Anyway, also Silver Bullet, based on SK's Cycle of the Werewolf, I think. A few parts were cheesy (to the point that I burst out laughing), but most of it was VERY good, indeed. And that one scene was great for a laugh.

Once again, a movie that shoulda stayed truer to the book.

IT scared the bejesus out of me, but that may be 'cos I have been scared of clowns all my life.

Coney - were you referring to The Thing as in that 1 about the people who get stuck in that research centre or whatever with that monsterous alien type thing that hangs from the ceiling (I have a fuzzy memory about it - I was very small when I watched it, but I remember a scene where the one guy gets his legs stuck in a bucket with some rocks or something.......)

Also the original Dead Ship - the shower scene played havoc with my young impressionable mind.

If all else fails watch the Telletubies, they're bound to scare anyone

The Thing was definitely one of the top 10 scaries and what was the one called about the spiders - can't remember was it Arachnaphobia? Anyway that also scared the living sh*its out of me (again because of an irrational fear stemming from birth)

Yup, Arachnophobia

Don't suffer from it meself, but we did bully one of our Spider Fearing mates into going to see it (had to get him drunk first)......Once the film really got going he ran. He has quite and impressive turn of speed for 16 stone man....poor bugger is probably still running

Yup, I was dragged kicking & screaming from the circus 'cos a clown jumped up next to me as part of the show - I started bawling my eyes out. Poor mom was so embarrased.

Had my revenge in later years though - I accidentaly set one alight at a party

I've just thought of another film....tho' I can't remember the title. It starred Anthony Hopkins (I think) and it was about an insane/possessed ventriloquist's dummy that came to life.

That film was a bloody good laxative as well

Another fave is Near Dark....Classic modern-day Vampire movie

Some of the scariest stuff I can remember came from the old Twilght Zone tv series............they has some really shishkebabed script writers working on that!
