omg same caroline....

for those of you dont live in weston, or do and havent been through 8th grade yet, sludge is when in science, you are gicin a liquid mixed together of many things, and you have to find out whats in it. Its a difficult project that counts for our grade of most of the 3rd quarter

Ah, sludge was so easy. We just guessed what we had and then made up results to support it.

Fractional distilation = piece of cake.

no (im a freshmen at JPS in edison), a lot of schools do it accross the nation do it... using the IPS course. Did you use the IPS book? They changed the curriculum here, but we still do labs from it and the sludge test.

Eh, why not easy? Its basically what you've done the whole year.....its all the labs combined. 5 subtsances mixed together - whats common is 2 insoluble, 1 soluble, 2 liquids.

My lab partner and I guessed what we had immediately - and we did do some tests. Then aftwerwards we made up the stuff we didn't test - a great majority. We even made up proceedures we didn't actually do and we did crazy stuff like throwing or subtances into fire, magnetism, etc.

Your sludge sounds the same as ours.... I've looked this up on the net and this is a common course - usually for freshmen (like me)...it can be taught in 8th grade too.

It counts for like 70% of our midterm and is worth over 300 points. We bsed the conclusion, etc. I think we'll get an A

plus the teachers are gicving 3 tests on friday, and 2 on thursday

eh? 3 tests in one week? You lucky person you. I have 3 major tests just TOMORROW. Hours of hw, hours of practicing. Three concerts this week after school, after school rehersals - almost no free time (and i spend some of it here). I had 2 tests today. Probably more this week - or maybe even surprise ones. Thats what I get for being in mostly all honors courses

. 5 hours of jazz rehersal a week....

I was insane enough to apply for Honors Bio for next year - and got in. They advertise 2 hours of hw. They must be kidding, right?

You don't have assigned lab parters? You usually only have one too. Sounds like it may be easy. And if you havent done many labs - it has to be substances that you have used before. They make it sound 50 x harder than it actually is.

I hope your right! We right down 4 people that we would like to work with and then our teacher assigns the groups as best he can. there will be one group of three becasue we have an uneven class.
