They are little shugery triangles of colored candy. The look like kernals of corn. They are white at the top, orange oin the middle and yellow at the bottom. very very tasty. you eat them primarily around Halloween time, although they can also be found in pink purple green and yelloe around easter!

Yes, I am totally serious. I had no idea anyone liked candy corn. I thought it was just a Halloween tradition to burden kids' sacks with it, like people give fruitcakes at Christmas even though no one wants to eat them.

Well, maybe a T-bone steak.

Regarding pies, last year I ate two pies every working day for lunch, sometimes with cheesecake, went to gym perhaps three times, and lost 1kg.

But I think I need to go to gym, now. I'm getting a bit skinny. I should stop eating all that cheesecake. Mmmm cheesecake. Blueberry cheesecake.

I had strange chocolate cake yesterday. It was okay, I guess.

Mmmmm......cheesecake. With a blueberry topping.

Yes, I should head back to the gym. Perhaps I should post a "before" pic and the pic thread, and after six months post an "after" pic.

But who would want to see my body?

must put more emphasis on STEAK AND POTATOES!

and i like croutons, feta cheese, and balsamic vinegar in a combo. tastes really good.

i know some people who like to eat paper, so i dont see why people wouldnt like to eat candy corn. its a little more sugary and rounded than paper is.

Since my father into hunting and fishing we usually get quite a few tasty meals.

Roe mixed with crème fraiche on black bread

Roast elk or deer , boiled potatoes, mushrooms (champignons) fried and then put in the sauce.

or

Breadcrumbed cod, plaice, whitefish fillets or boiled or graved salmon, boiled potatoes, butter or whitesauce.

A kind of apple cake (apples covered by a roof of paste) with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

My special favourite sandwich:

A couple of slices of almond paste on buttered pre-sliced white bread.

GW - that made me hink of a joke I'd heard:

A man brings deer meat for supper, from hunting. He knows his kids are very fussy eaters and won't eat it if they know what it is. So he doesn't tell them. His little boy keeps asking him, "What's for supper dad?, what's for supper dad?", "You'll see", the father replies.

They start eating supper and his daughter keeps asking him what they are eating. "Ok", says her dad, "Here's a hint. It's what your mother sometimes calls me."

His daughter shocked and almost chokes, screams....."Don't eat it, Jimmy (to her brother)......... It's an *sshole !".

Anyway, my favourite food is (erm, does Vodka count?) if not then potjiekos.

Question to the US kids: why do you guys eat cookie dough & frosting etc?

yup potjiekos is a SA thing. It's made of all kind of veggies (mostly baby potatoes, carrots, onion etc) and whatever meat you choose (lamb shank, beef etc) which are cooked for a coupla hours in a 3 legged cast iron pot on an open fire outside - it's usually done while camping etc. You can do it with anything really (seafood is my fave, 'cos I don't really eat red meat - it makes me physically sick)

Of course you must serve it with potbread or roosterkoek.

I basically like all traditional SA food - bobotie, spitbraai (yummie), stokbrood (stick bread), even pap & sous on the odd occasion.

and bunny chow!
