Oh yeah does anyone know the main hair color for the Noldor and the Teleri and such?

Thank'ee very much! and Have a Merry Christmas!
The main hair color among the Noldor was dark. I would say brown or black but for the House of Finarfin who had the golden hair of the Vanyar. There were also red haired Elves among the Feanorians. All Vanyarin Elves were golden haired, and although Tolkien does not specificly say the hair color overall for the Teleri, he does give individual descriptions for Elves such as Celeborn and Earwen, Thingol, etc... being silver haired.

Sister, I have promised myself eleventy-one time not to get into this issue, but I can't help it. Addiction, you know
Well, Tolkien seemed to make up his mind at a point that the Sindar (a Telerin branch) were mostly dark haired as well (see Quendi and Eldar, where he points out that the Noldor and the Sindar very closely resembled each other in looks, except for the brighter eyes of the Noldor). However, precisely as you say, silver hair was not uncommon among Telerin nobility, especially among the close relations of Elwe and Cirdan. Interesting, though, that Olwe had white hair.

Thank you! Yes, we are, but after a while we decided that Entmoot seemed more fun. At any rate, it was great to meet you here.

Rian they are a great group from the Tolkien/Inklings forum at SF-Fandom. AKA Xenite.org Michael Martinez' board.

Thanks, Elanor I'm glad you all are now at Entmoot.

Thanks, SGH - I've taken a peek over there, and it looks v. interesting, but I'm already behind in my laundry so I just limit myself to Entmoot!

OK, could one of you pop over to the Quote thread and solve the final word so we can get a new quote?

I'm not sure about elven hair coloring, or even other boards. But it does seem that discussing them has chased the teen-idol worshipers away.

I remember you opting for blonde, but last time you weren't that specific.
Someone will be glad to know your opinion, though.

Let's see now, Legolas' hair couldn't be silver blonde, cause that would have then been the same color as Galadriel's hair, and no one had that color accept her. Finrod came close, but no cigar
