I'm thankful for my family. cliche, I know, but it's really been driven home to me the last few weeks what a blessing they really are.
-Mom's home cooking (I'm really a decent cook, but mom's cooking beats all)
-school. Icomplain about it so often, but I'm paying a lot of money to be here, and my parents are helping me pay for tuition--a huge blessing!
-I have more, but that last one reminded me of that paper that I haven't finished yet...

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all

oh yeah--the Relatives are coming over this year, but not very many of them, so it will be a nice, smalll bunch. My sis and I will drive down after my morning class

I'm thankful for EVERYTHING! It's not much, but I sure do appreciate everything I have. Things are hard to come by!

I'm thankful....
1. to be a modern woman, in a free country

2. for modern medicine, and all the appliances and utilities that make my life so much easier than the women of old.

3. birth control, if I had any more than two kids, I would permanently lose it! (now it's just temporary!)

4. my husband, the most wonderful person in the world

5. I'm Thankful I'm not having Thanksgiving at my house this year!

I grumble about a lot of things, but I really am grateful for:

*Living in a free country like Australia, barely touched by war or strife.

*Living in a society where women can get an education and vote.

*My parents who pay for me to learn at university (and everything else!)

*JRR Tolkien for writing the greatest novel of all.

*Having things like a computer, TV, the internet, good food to eat, CD's and books to make life pleasant.

*Peter Jackson for letting Viggo be Aragorn instead of Stuart Townsend.

I was being all serious 'till the last one. Happy thanksgiving Americans! I don't know much about it, but I know you have turkey. Have fun!

Yes my friend Trish who is Indian celebrates Thanksgiving too. Now that she lives on Six Nation Indian Reserve again though in Canada - she celebrates it in October. And it is celebrated on the reserve.

i'm thankful that i can go to a good college and my parents are nice enough to pay for most of it, and that i go to school close enough to home that i can be at home for thanksgiving...though admittedly more so i can see my friends than for the 'holiday itself...i've never been big on thanksgiving, really. far from my favourite holiday though i am quite thankful for having a few days off school. even though i'm greatful for my wonderful education i do need a break sometimes! and i'm thankful there's a working computer at home so i can post on entmoot

i'm thankful i have three grandparents who are still alive and pretty much healthy. furthermore, i am thankful my grandmother got to the hospital quickly enough this summer when she had a heart attack and i am very thankful she is alive and healthy again today and that i'll probably get to see her in march.

tomorrow i think we'll just have some people over and do lots of cooking and i'll be rather bored and get annoyed at everyone as usual
and i'll get to spend some time with my brother, which can be nice.

The Lord! Thanksgiving! Fencing! Delightful family! A brilliant father (I love to boast about him )! Living in America! Writing skill! Entertainment too . Always entertainment .

Splendid taste (A severe egotistical tang in me, I'm afraid), Hypercard (Me and my brothers make computer games using an old fashioned computer technology called Hypercard), having a mother that loves art. She decorates our walls with beautiful paintings that she made, and me and my brothers and sisters have inherited a drawing ability from her. My brothers and I don't develop ours as deeply as we could, but we make good use of it, as the thousands of paper drawn, colored in and cut out figures that we have can bear witness .

Oh my goodness, I can't believe I almost forgot this one: Having a mother that's also an incredible cook! She doesn't do it for a profession or anything, but me and my family are incredibly spoiled by her talent .

A beautiful house! We underwent mold remediation and our old house has been torn down to give way to a newer one, and it is truly beautiful. I suppose it's even worth the hours of moving furniture, tearing down wallpaper, etc. that we had to do to get it looking that way .

More refrigerator space! Chocolate! My parents homeschool us, so we're blessed in that way too!

11. Not having to fear for my life
12. Having true friends who really care
13. A caring, loving family
14. The unnecessary, earthly blessings that make my life so much fun
15. Being able to look out my window and see great natural beauty
16. People who are patient!
17. Freedom to worship God without fear of an oppressive gov't.
18. Christ's love for me and the rest of the world
19. The power of prayer
20. The ability to be content at the mo
21. Being able to worry about trivial matters, because it means that I don't have to worry about major things like whether or not I'm going to be shot when I walk out my door
22. Being able to eat not just what I can find, but what tastes good, and eating till I'm full
23. Two loving parents who are comitted to my welfare and helping me grow in the Lord

Today I am at my grandparents' house. Some of my extended family is here, and my grandparents have invited two men from church who woud have been alone today to come share with us. We'll be eating in a few minutes. Right now I am quite content and happy. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone, and God bless!

I am thankful:
- to be alive;
- to have my cat, Archie, for six years now, and he's in great health;
- to have a delicious home-made cherry pie in the oven right now - yum!;
- to live in America.

Er, the pie kind of sums up one of the most important things I do on Thanksgiving Day.

Am sorry to hear about your mom. Such things do give us a deeper perspective on what thanksgiving can really mean -- how can we possibly really understand it without loss, first?

Anger towards another is just as if someone wishing to hit another person takes hold of glowing coals, or a heated iron-rod, or of excrement. And, in the same way, if the other person is angry with you, what can he do to you? Can he destroy your virtue and your other good qualities? He too has come to his present state by his own actions and will go hence according to his own actions. Like an unaccepted gift or like a handful of dirt thrown against the wind, his anger will fall back on his own head."
