Re: Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition

What do you mean? The Hobbits are the appropriate size in the movies (3' 6") and that person certainly isn't any shorter then 4 feet! Plus, the Hobbits never wore any helmets, and they didn't have beards.

And that is Legolas for certain. I'm telling you, that's his outfit. The white on his arms give it away. Compare it to the cool pics of him on the main site and you'll see what I mean.

Re: Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition

The Stoors could infact grow beards so that's not entirely true. The Hobbits look pretty short to me.

Re: Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition

Yes, well we don't have any Stoors joining the Fellowship, now do we?

Trust me, it's a Dwarf and THAT is Legolas.

Re: Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition

I am on your side. I haven't looked at the picture but I am sure it is Gimli and Legolas. I was just nit-picking about something you obviously know enough about not to be badgered with. But the Hobbits of Buckland (which was founded by an ancestor of the Brandybucks, either a Brandybuck himself or a Hobbit of an older name I don't remember, perhaps Oldbuck, who at any rate built Brandyhall) were mostly of Stoorish blood. All the same Merry did not have a beard, so it doesn't matter.

Re: Unveiled secret - What secret?

In the picture Legolas and Gimli are riding together in the front line. Of course Legolas is going to look feminine he is an Elf! Male elves are just as fair looking as female elves. If you look at the end of the LOTR trailer you can see Legolas up close and see that he is a long haired blonde and is very feminine.

I'm not touching that one with a 20 foot battle lance.

I've rehosted these photos on my ATT service, since GeoCities no longer hosts pitures outside its sites.

In other pictures of Gimli, the helmet looks distinctly different. This one has quite an overhang, like the Star Wars helmets on Empire Technicians.

Also, Legolas does NOT look feminine to me!

(And I've been watching feminine for longer than anyone else on this board!)

EDIT: Finally figured out why i couldn't make that image download! Doh!

But, if it is Gimli and Legolas, the photo then makes sense. Hopefully, this is the case, and Jackson has not rewritten another scene.

We'll know if we catch a glimpse on another trailer, on new publicity, or on the screen December 2002.

Re: Unveiled secret

I don't know who that is, but it isn't Legolas. Can't you see that they're wearing a skirt?

Re: Unveiled secret

I actually can't tell if there is a skirt or not. Could be pants, could be a tunic. If it's Eowyn, she's going to be dressed as a rider anyway!

Re: Unveiled secret

That is most deffinitely Legolas and Gimli, and there is no skirt.

Re: Unveiled secret

Inoldonil is correct! Look at what Legolas is wearing! It's the same thing he's wearing the the Fellowship trailer!

I still think it's a skirt!

And I didn't say it was Eowyn either.

Re: I still think it's a skirt!

But look at the helmet on the half-pint. Gimli's helmet doesn't match that at all!

I think that is conclusive.

It's not a freakin' skirt!

So what are you saying? That it's Eowyn wearing Legolas's clothes, with longer, blonder hair? That one of the Hobbits sprouted a beard, found a helmet lying around, and grew about a foot and a half?

I don't think so. It could be a different helmet (plus the pic you posted was a very OLD makeup test), or we could simply be seeing it from a different angle.

I'm afraid all the facts of the pic are completely in favor of it being Legolas and Gimli on horseback.

Re: It's not a freakin' skirt!

I have been following this thread since it's beginning. I have looked and looked at this "helmet" and it has become very clear to me that it is a motorcross helmet. Why anyone would be wearing such a helmet is what you all should be discussing.

I don't really know...

I'd prefer to believe that's Gimli and therefore Legolas.

But it just doesn't look right to me! Otherwise that seems to be Theoden, Eomer, and Aragorn, which would suggest it's Legolas & Gimli.

Assuming the producers have not introduced something else.

Re: I don't really know...

That's not conclusive Gil, the helmet Gimli wore in the teaser trailer is exactly the same design as the one in our picture we're discussing.
