Also, please be nice. I didn't attack you with my post.
If it makes you feel better, I think it's an act on his part to sound more homey, and it fails miserably.

Really though, there are plenty of criticisms of Bush that I've seen, and which I can accept as legitimate arguments; and critisizing his speech and looks (not you specifically here Monsieur SnowBane) has never made it into that category.

"Tirror" can be attributed to accent, "Nucular" is good-natured stubborness. I think that sometimes Bush feels that since all those Libs/Dems think he's so evil, he may as well show them he has a sense of humour. It fails, but at least he tries

One last note: It can work to a President's advantage to sound "stupid" to his enemies, so they can underestimate him

My favourite quote from him: "Beware you Heem screaming Bishops! "

The image of a middle-aged man in a mitre squealing and waving his crozier is hysterical.

Mitre squealing and waving crozier? Could you get TB to draw a picture of that?

The man in the mitre is squealing;

I provide a pictorial reference below; mitre is the hat, crozier is the staff:

Although I DO think there are figures within and beyond the administration that are more concerned with the scam part of it. George Bush? Ive actually gotten to the point of feeling sorry for him and that takes a lot.

Perhaps back to the point?

Answer me this:

Can you win a war on terror? How? When has it happened before?

Doesn't declaring "war" on terror just strengthen the terrorist's resolve to fight?

Me personally: I think the Americans are NEVER going to win a war on terror, they have too much to answer for.

Someone fire up!

Fenir, I think most people have GOTTEN that point about "terror" being a tactic etc...I've been hearing that so often, my ears start twitching everytime somebody says it, even if they're not in my range of hearing.

You can't win a "war on terrorISM", but you can win a war on certain "terrorISTS"...which is what this war ALWAYS intended.

And you "fight" something you are against not only by attacking it when possible, but also by promoting your side's ideals.
