What he meant? Sorry but I don't believe any here are sufficiently psychic to know that. Words mean things and should be used accordingly.

That's when we work together and try to clarify things And the way Jonathan and I understand his use of the word is a perfectly valid way, according to the dictionary. But the best thing would be for him to get in here and clarify what he meant!

That's why it was in quotes. And don't get me started on spelling!

OK, so we're talking sentient in terms of higher than "you wag your tail when I scratch your hiney, so you're telling me it feels good!"

I watched about 20 minutes of it, and it looks fairly credible at first glance. I like how it's standard FLIR equipment, and that there are multiple pilots involved, and their banter sounds authentic, and that it didn't show up visually but instead only on the FLIR system. There was a FLIR system, and apparently some type of radar system, but I didn't get to what type of radar system it was. I used to work in military radar, but I was the land-based side of things as opposed to the airborne side. Did they say what type of radar it was, and did it show up on the radar? Did it show up on any landbased radar that was tracking the aircraft, too?

My my, what a grumpy thread... I feel right at home. Seems I'm not the only one today who's less shiny than else.

As for sentient and/or self-aware beings besides our own, yes, I believe there are. If there are already more of those on earth (elephants, dolphins and at least one or two of the giant apes), the chances are that somewhere in that giant universe there is sentient life too.

Astronomy and exploration satelites have proven other planets have water, which we see as one of the keys for life, so changes are IMO good. And where there's life, the first big hurdle towards intelligent life is already taken.

But what I don't believe is that that intelligent extraterrestial life is small and grey and visits us in UFO's.

I agree; two days of migraine and Rx don't make a happy Vulcan.

IIRC Belgium has had its share of UFO experiences and some in recent years too.
....FTR(and not to go further) I was an investigative reporter on the subject for some time when I lived in Arizona and really expanded my mind on the subject.

yeah, me too......unfortunately I could barely focus my eyes much less my brain at that time and not doing too much better right now.

I only know as much about myself as my mind can work on under its current conditions. And its current conditions are not good.

Jup, the famous 'Belgian Triangles'. It was around the early, or midway the ninties, I think I remember. Quite a wave of sightings, put our lil' country right on the UFO-map. It's a pity I didn't get to see any, 't was far too cloudy. But it caused quite a commotion.

Do I think there's sentience (aka jon's def'n) somewhere out there? Not sure. Probably. Do I think lil' grey aliens come to earth regularly to probe the collective *insert butt euphemism here* of fat 'merkians? not bloody likely.

Has anyone else watched the video yet?

And Tel, do you know anything more about the radar (as opposed to the FLIR) system?

I looked at these videos, but I still doubt they were of extraterrestrial origin. I really don't think that any aliens have been to Earth.

I thought the long video was very convincing and very uplifting and positive it was really well done. With that being said, I am not exactly an advocate for this type of stuff, I just came across this video which was shockingly convincing to me; I thought I should share it.

I didn't look at the long one, just the two clips of the Russian MIGs. They feature objects you cannot see in any detail behaving in ways we wouldn't expect from objects of that size. The probability that they do not originate from Earth is very, very small IMO.

I believe that there's intelligent life elsewhere in the universe, because if the universe goes on for forever then there's bound to be something.

Oh, so you too subscribe to the theory: ...The idea is that if you have an infinite number of monkeys typing randomly on an infinite number of typewriters, eventually, they will produce any piece of literature you care to mention.

Sorry.

I did watch the ones about the MIGs though.
