eragon are they destroying the book with the movie

the answer is yes. because all who have read this novel by christopher paolini
then looked at pics for the movie on google should know that brom wields za'rock instead of eragon.

well actually Brom gives Eragon Zarroc about a quarter the way through the book and he does wield it, but not until Brom has trained him for a while.

Anybody else going to see it in theatres? Because I'm going to feel mighty weird going when I know no other 15 year olds are going.

Also, does anyone know if they're filming Eragon and Eldest back-to-back? Because after seeing the trailer with that other dragon in there with all the aerial battles it looks like that should be Eldest, or maybe they're putting them together or something. Please enlighten me!

I think it apeared metallic because in the book Sapphira was given dragon armor by the dwarves.

I don't think so, nothing i've read online suggests that. It appears to me that in the previews the metallic looking dragon is just Sapphira in her armor. You also have a lethrblaka that migt appear dragonish. And judging by the first trailer, they introduce Galbatorix fairly early and we might get to see Shruikan(his dragon who is black).

I don't know if I want to see it. The trailers made it look like they messed it (the book) up bad. As in made it really different. I'd really like it if they could make movies like books.

I've seen a comershal for the Eragon movie, they changed everything so much in looks (the hand thing for example) and put scales on Saphiras wings!
The wings were supost to be an ovious target so they stayed on the ground most of the time...

Anyway this just confirms my resons not to watch it... Sorry to be a spoil sport.

Do you guys feel that perhaps these movie deals were made in a bit of rush? I mean, just because Narnia and LotR were such big sucesses, does it mean they HAVE to make a movie of it right away?

They could've taken their time, IMO, and made worthwhile.

From the previews i've seen I would definetly agree it just looks like its been poorly produced, but being a sucker i'll shell out my six bucks and wait and see.

Its either Galbatorix who from the teasers they have chosen to bring in sooner. Or its the shade (Durza I think his name was) the soldiers appear have black and red armor as well. I still haven't seen an urgal in the trailers.

You know: this riles me. Why do film producers feel that we'd rather see our beloved book made into a movie zap quick, when really we'd prefer they'd take their time to make it a worthy production?

As an aspring film maker I quite agree. What frustrates me is the lack of originality in so many movies these days. (not so much indies and foreigns) I'm sure its harder than it looks to write a good original screenplay but come on haven't we seen enough corny, predictable, quasi inspiring sports movies?.

YEAH, Really! There are probably enough clone sports movies to assign to each clone trooper in Star Wars...

Sometimes a bad script can still be a good movie, just ask Opera librettists...ok, maybe not.

Operas don't even get me started. I watched phantom the other day and it had some beutiful cinematography and some great music. and that was it I kept waiting for them to stop singing and sort of advance the plot but nooo. They don't even stop singing when the'yre having swordfight. *sigh* (where was I?)

oh yeah bad scripts can be great movies look at how corny star wars writers are. story is good but dialouge can be just awful.

Well I haven't seen that particular movie, but I can tell you this: Brunnhilde may not always look beautiful, but she as sure heck sounds like it

(Unlike in Italian Opera-where you get some real knockouts looks-wise, in Wagnerian opera it's almost a rule that the singer-while not "fat" has to be quite hefty chestwise)

I LOVE the dialogue! It's so classic!

Heh I'll keep that in mind if I ever get that close to an opera again.

Try italian opera first. And look Cecilia Bartoli up on Google Images real quick.

You have to give it to Leia, she has the best lines

Cecilia Bartoli or Renee Fleming
