yeah, it was crazy, i just finished book 6, and was like "what the heck?"

who knows, maybe dumbledore will pull a "gandalf" and show up in the last book. too bad about snape though, for about two books i thought he was allright.

and i don't know why y'all are so hard on percy, after all its not like his family even wants him back, his family always treats him like crap so its not like he has any reason to want to make up with everyone.

Interesting thread about being in the wrong house. Let me twist it around. Could someone ever really be in the right house? People are way to complicated to divide into four neat groups.

Harry could be in Slytherin or Gryffindor - but he's in Gryffindor because he actively chose this. Neither house would be technically wrong.

Where would you sort an ambitious young woman with a strong work ethic who values her friends above all else?
Where would put a wishy-washy but brilliant young man who is courageous when faced with a dire situation?
It wouldn't be an easy sort like Draco was eh?

About Wormtail being a coward - this may be true, but he did have enough nerve to chop off his own hand. No matter how cowardly his motivation may seem, it takes a lot of guts to chop your hand off.

I'm not sure if it says in the books, but JKR has said Hagrid was a Gryffindor. I think he fits better there than anywhere else. As you said, he's not a genius, and he may be loyal and hardworking but he does tend to get drunk and do foolhardy things that most Hufflepuffs wouldn't do. He's certainly not a Slytherin, but he is very brave.

ok forgive me folks i have just one more, I promise this is the last one.

PJ: really? you actually liked king kong so much it moved you to tears?

DD:er...well not actually me you see, but my friend Hagrid in fact he was weeping so loudly that he got hit with at least five silencio charms, he still can't talk above a whisper, anyway the autograph is for him.

PJ: wow thats beatiful if moved him so much he can't even describe it in words.

DD: its not that, its just that he can't...er..be heard.

PJ: I like that, the little guy trying to voice his opinions but then getting shouted down by da man.

DD:er...well i would hardly define him as "a little guy".

PJ: well how would you define him?

DD:er....

Ron: as mental as you are....

PJ: mental? what a curious expression. *runs around like a gorilla, and pounds his chest*

discussion, ahh yes, well its interesting what nurv was saying that the houses are sort-of ineffective due to simple human complexity perhaps its just more evidence that stereotyping doesn't work and is unfair.

whats to keep Harry from turning to the "dark" side though?

its been bugging me for a while now but, in OoTP and HBP harry tries to use the big bad crucio "unforgiveable" curse, first on that one chick and then on Snape
if those curses are so big and bad why hasn't he turned to the "dark" side and gone evil and all that if its such a big crime then why didn't DD even mention it to him. is it not really a big deal, or is there some kind of exemption for him?
