the scene with aragorn looking into the palantir looked like it was in minas tirith, but that couldnt be true right...??? i mean how could he make sauron scared of him to attack early when the battle is already over?

They probably put it before the Black Gate.

Is there really 50 minutes of exta scenes! Woah!

The link works from school, but no sound. However, the Mouth of Sauron looks wicked cool, and it looks like Éowyn and Faramir have a great scene together (Houses of Healing)?

What the nuts is going on with Saruman though? I noticed the spiky wheel, does he die in EE? Why is he whipping fire and Gandalf, Théoden and co? I fear the made up stuff.

I haven't seen the preview, but suspect to give them 'justification' for causing his death... in combat or something. I guess that'll lead them to doing whatever causes him to fall on the spiky wheel.

Too bad if they don't just have Wormy push him over the edge... though at least it will be good that the two of them are killed (although the storyline was majorly streamlined for it).

The other things you say sound real good...

There's a link to the preview at the beginning of this thread - you just need Quicktime.

Yeah, it would be the best if Wormtongue pushed him, but they probably won't because they didn't develop their relationship enough to explain it like they did in the book. (The Hobbits and co. coming across Saruman and Wormtongue on the road was key IMO.) However, even without that development having Wormtongue push him would be better than another wizard battle. *recalls Orthanc in FOTR* *cringes*

The Mouth of Sauron is really awesome, and he holds up Frodo's mithril shirt, and Pippin is dismayed! That pretty good writing eh?

Oh.... It's been a long day.

Do you guys realize that it has been nearly three years since FOTR first came out in theatres? Dec. 18th 2001 IIRC (in Canada). That means it took three years to go from theatre to EE DVD. Seems like a long drawn-out process in order to get people to see the movie loads of times, then buy the normal DVDs, then buy the EE DVDs. I for one won't buy any, but I would consider going halfers on the EE set with my boyfriend.

YUP YUP!!!

And to think that it's only a little more than 12% of the new footage!

I agree wholeheartedly! Putting back that scene changes the reason Aragorn says his line: "For Frodo" when they charge the black gates. Instead of trying to buy him time, they're out for justice for a "lost" friend....

Yup, Pytt,

That's the new 6 minute 53 second trailer that just came out today...

I vow to watch it the same number of times as Gimli's score vs Legolas until I get the DVDs...

What a great trailer! Yup, if I buy any of the movies, it will be the EEs!

Gandalf faces the Witch-king at the gates of Minas Tirith.

There's also a confrontation between Gandalf and Saruman, but for some reason Saruman shoots fire at him. I think it's possible to get Wormtongue throwing the Palintir, but that's not shown in the trailer.

The Paths of the Dead scenes are more fleshed out *rimshot* , but for some reason there's a massive earthquake when they're in there. I don't know where Jackson got the idea that there wasn't enough action in the books.

Aragorn uses the Palantil (properly this time).

The march through Mordor with the orcs is added! This is the best addition IMO.

Peter Jackson also has a cameo as a Corsair getting shot by Legolas.

Yes Telcontar, It is Legolas, in the Trailer it shows Legolas fire an arrow into P.J. and then Gimli gasp at the shot.
