The image of Finrod swooning from the power of Sauron's chanting is somehow more lovely than Tom Bom's situation :

Personally, I think it wasn't the power of Tom Bom's song that drove the Wight out; I think it was the fear that Tom would continue on into the Merry Dols and Derry Dols!

(isn't it ironic that it was the kinslaying that finally defeated Finrod, even tho he himself wasn't involved )
